We went for the bugaboo camelon..it costs a fortune but I travel alot on public transportation so I needed something easy to get on/off the underground..it also packs up nicely for the back of the car. Try buying a used one on eBay. The great thing about the bugaboo is it has a layette for when they are babies (although we only used this until 3 months old) and then a chair thing for up to 3 years old...it is very versatile and wears well..can wipe off and wash up easy. I see also amazon.com is having free delivery of the bugaboo (we had to pre-order ours which took 2 months!)

Thats the one we are going for I think its has very good write ups.
I am also looking at Stokke prams but not so sure about them.

Not sure if I'm too late in answering this - been off line for a week!
We have the Stokke and I LOVE it!!!! I adore the fact that Charlie was on our level. No bending over to check on him - he can see us at all times and rarely did we ever get any tantrums. Now he's older we turned the seat round so he faces forward. again because he is so high up he ADORES it. You can move the seat down to a buggy level as well if you're out with friends and want the children on the same level.
The two wheel action is great - I am petrified of lifts so I've found that putting it down to 2 wheels and using the stairs much better for me.
The chasis is light (although not great for public transport as it breaks down into 2 pieces) and easy to use and fits fine into my car. We also took it on holiday and found it very easy.
Finally - we get SO many comments about the Stokke when we're out. Everyone comments on it and stops to ask about it - Charlie gets LOTS of attention from passers by!
Anyhow - we bought ours on-line at www.whizzywheels.co.uk (not sure if you were in the UK?). They had it in stock and were great - not everywhere has it in stock. Cost £500 (I couldn't see anywhere that were doing a deal on it when I bought it?!) but I can honestly say it is worth every penny!
