Anyone get a swollen belly after ER?

Post by Sue1234 »

Hi- I had my egg retrival on 8/2 and et on 8/5. Since my er I have had a swollen belly and the feeling of being full. When I had my et they said I had swollen ovaries but no fluid. I have been weighing myself but have not gained since the first couple of pounds the first day. I have been researching OHSS too. Just wondering if anyone else feels this way.

hi there,

you dont need to worry at all...i had this problem around 7 days after er....i could not even eat properly as i felt my belly will blast....you will be fine soon...my nurse said to drink fluid if you cant eat or if eating is making tummy sore..

Hi there -

I had the same problem, after my ER I felt like I was 5 months prego and was very uncomfy. I could not breath, eat, sleep or walk but I did have some fluid and the doc had to drain me. It really did not help much but little by little it went away. I ate very light and drank lots of water and Gatorade to help me pee alot and that also helped. I also have my ovaries very swollen and had OHSS. Right now I am 9+ weeks and still a little bloated but feeling much better my doc said all OHSS symptoms will go away at 12 weeks so don't worry it's all very normal.

Good Luck!!
