how to improve response to stims?

Post by chriss »

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if any of you have some ideas to improve the response to stims. This is my first IVF and there are only 2 follicles that are of good size and 2 or 3 little ones. Is there anything that could help to improve this for future cycles? Thanks. -chris

chriss - hi! this has never happened to me before but my guess would be that they will put you on a higher dose of stimms from the start next time. IF you need to cycle again this should be mentioned in your follow up appointment. but stay positive, its quality, not quantity!

Chriss,

I was very disappointed at my first scan after stimming as I also only had a couple of largish follies and a few smaller ones. My clinic decided to keep me on the same dosage of stimms but delay EC for a few days and I couldn't believe when I went for my last scan before EC the smaller ones had really caught up. We ended up with 9 eggs!

I'm sure your clinic will decide what is best for you - and it's amazing how quickly things can change! Keep up the pma!

Best of luck - will keep fingers crossed for you

Hi Chriss, sorry i cannot help on the stims as i was a good responder, but i just saw you have factor5 clotting issues, I have just tested positive to this after losing 2 pregnancies early on, when did you find out about it if you don't mind me asking.

All the very best of luck to you in this cycle.

I would try acupuncture & some of the vitamins that people have been recommending on the message board. Gi gong exercises might also help to increase blood flow.
Also, if your MD doesn't have a different protocal in mind for the next cycle, I would consider changing doctors.

Hi guys,
Thanks all of you for responding. Cla, that was really good news. Thanks. I go back in tomorrow to see what's up. And, they are keeping me on the same dose for now. Beachbaby, I was at the beach all day today! I just got home. It was beautiful. Well, about the factor V... I found out after an early miscarriage. Because I am forty, I pushed my doctors to do all of the testing that they do for people with repeated loss. I didn't want to wait and have another miscarriage if it was something that I could prevent. I never have had any clotting issues before this. I never would have even kknown I had it. I am now on a baby aspirin a day. When did you find out? Thanks again for your responses everyone. I feel better. -Chriss

Hi Chriss, I found out last Thursday, test results after 2 early miscarraiges. They will only have me start aspirin on day of transfer. I will use my last frosties on an FET, i will start around end of September, could go now but want to lose a bit of weight first.
Hope all goes well today and they find more follies, I stimmed for 14 days, on my first count i had only a few and i ended up with 20. good liuck today, let us know.
