Cereal with no Vitamin A?

Post by zach »

Are there any cereal brands that have little or no Vitamin A?

I understand that Vitamin A, beyond a certain limit, should be avoided in pregnancy.

You are a terrific support group. I've lurked on this message board since 2005 and I always find information that I cannot find elsewhere. You guys ROCK!!!

FYI: The following information may be of interest to you:

1) Kashi brand peanut butter bars have 5 gms of fiber, 10 gms of proteins and 140 calories. We found this snack to be much better than a lot of other high sugar low protein ones.

2) Lots of really good nutrition advice in a book by Dr. Barbara Luke and Tamara Eberlein "When you're expecting Twins, Triplets or Quads"

3) Local public library had lots of DVDs about pre-natal, pregnancy and childbirth. We've been through the following:
a) In the Womb (National Geoagraphic)
b) Childbirth from Inside Out (part 1 & part 2)

My doctor told me that you have to be careful about getting too much
vitamin A from SUPPLEMENTS only. Any vitamin A naturally found in foods is fine.

Jenden, Thank you!!

We are going to call and confirm with our doctor and Monday.

I went and hunted the cereal aisles and found several brands which do not have this Vitamin A. Following are the brand details.

Brand: Peace Cereal
Organic Hearty Raisin Bran (with cruncy Oat clusters)
per serving - 8g fiber, 4 g protein and low fat, 0% vitamin A

Stay healthy you all!!
