IUI - It Hurts!

Hi<br><br>I am new to all this, and need some general advice if poss!<br><br>I had my first insemenation on Friday. I have had six IUI cycles abandoned before this, due to various reasons.<br><br>I am having terrible cramps since Friday. Is this normal? Should I be in this much pain? The nurse did say that I may experience some discomfort, but I didn't think it would last this long. Has anyone else had the same experience? What should I do? I don't want to look as I'm complaining by phoning the hospital.

sorry cant help as we have male factor infertility and are doing IVF/ICSI. <br><br>I would say though, dont feel that you are complaining by phoning hospital-its what they are there for. <br>I would deffo phone them to put your mind at rest. Also, god forbid there is a problem,but its better to find out sooner rather than later, you would never forgive yourself if something was wrong & you did not phone. <br><br>I am sure everything is fine and it could be fertilisation or implanting causing pains(not sure what IUI involves) <br><br>DOnt worry about what the hospital think. You have to put yourself (& hopefully your baby!!) first<br><br>So MAKE THAT CALL........<br><br>There are probably other more experienced people on site who may be able to put your mind at rest but from what I have seen on this site everyones symptons are different!!<br><br>Keep us updated & good luck<br><br>Sarah<br>xx <br><br>[Edited by SJ BROWN on 18-Aug-03 06:25]

Hi Sonia<br>I am on day 11 of 2ww after my 3rd iui, i must say i have never had any cramp pains after wards only during like a slight period cramp, i would call ur clinic that is what they are there for, did ur insemination go ok i do know of a few girls who have tilted cervix's to have more discomfert than usual.<br>I am sure once you speak to your clinic they will put your mind at rest.<br>good luck for the 2ww i know what a nightmare it is !!<br>take care<br>lol<br>Lou x
