Hi Chilli:

Where do you live? We usually do 3 but because the quaility was so good this time we only did two since our Dr. was very afraid of triplets and us too!

We really want twins and will find out soon.

Are you going to do a 3 day or a 5 day transfer? I have transferred up to 4 3 dayers and usually only 2 blasts at a time.

Good luck!

transferred back

Our dr transferred two embryos back the first time (but that's all that was good enough too) Second time the same thing 3dt 2 embryos. But if I had up to 4 good ones on a 3dt they would have transferred all. If it was a 5dt and I had more than 2 embryos they only would transfer 2.

We had 2 5-day blastocysts transferred, and it looks like both may have "stuck"...hence my ticker, but I won't know until the U/S next week.

Why only one? Did you know that when you "hired" him to be your doctor? Hopefully the quality of the embryo will be good...Ask him why only one. (Not doing 3 or 4 I understand, but 2 is standard.)

Good luck

I've been wondering and worrying about this myself

I am very petite 4'10" and about 100 lbs. and can't imagine being able to carry

My husband and I have been talking about how many we would feel comfortable with and my feeling is 2 embryos at the most ... we still need to discuss this with our Dr.

I wish you all the best,
Love

Find out his success rates. They are publicly listed, but ask him as well.
At my clinic, 2 embryos transferred had a 76% success rate, 1 only had a 50%.
You really lower your chances ... but if it has to do with your size, maybe that is why he's doing it?
But your doctor is a rarity out there...did you do a lot of research before you chose him? There are EXCELLENT clinics in the nation...but you really need to bone up on them, read, call, get a feel for them.
good luck
