Hi everyone - I'm 27 weeks pregnant following IVF and driving myself NUTS over feeling the baby move. I was wondering what other people's experiences are in how their babies move - do they always move the same amount every day? Or do they have some sleepy days, when they move less?
This little guy moves throughout the day, but some days are more lively than others. So I end up panicking and poking him around or drinking ice cold water just to make him flip around. That seems both like cheating, AND not very nice!
I'd love to hear about other people's experiences.
That is exactly how I have been throughout this pregnancy. It sounds to me like your baby is acting just like mine did. When I was about 20-30 weeks along the movement varied greatly from day to day. Some days were much more active than others.....overall, she's always been more active at nights. In the last month or so, though, the movements are much more consistent. And the last week has really been active. So it should get better for you soon!
I am 29 weeks pregnant with twins (IVF) and feeling the babies kick has been a huge concern for me. I don't feel them as often as I should and yes,end up poking to try and get them to move. When I do feel them, it's usually at night and that's not every night.
You should feel the baby move at least 10 times in 24 hours. If you aren't then this needs to be checked out.
I went into hospital with Ellie because although she was moving, she wasn't moving as much as she usually did. I tried the usual things that would perk her up, having a bath usually did the trick but that time it didn't.
I was expecting to go on the monitor for half an hour and sent home. As you can see from my ticker Ellie was born at 26 weeks. There was no diastolic end flow in the cord and had we left it I would be posting a different story.
If you are worried always go in and get yourself checked out. Definately trust your own feelings. Better to have a wasted trip to the hospital. Besides, it's always nice to hear our little ones heartbeats!
Ellie is now 37 weeks and is a very happy little chunk. Weighing in at 16lb 12oz now!
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancies.
Jo

Jo - Thanks so much for sharing that story. What an incredible time you have all had...thank goodness you listened to your instincts and went in for monitoring. I'm so glad to hear that Ellie is doing well. What a strong girl!
