Post by Rotobay »

Hi Ladies,

I had my transfer today so I'm now in the dreaded 2ww. If anyone wants to vent, worry, obsess or anything else, please feel free to join me in this thread. Misery loves company!

As for me I had all of my embies (5) transferred (3 day x-fer). The two best were grade b, one 6 and one 8 cell. I also had a grade b 4 cell and 2 grade d 2 cells. My RE says the first 2 (the 6&8 cell) have the best chance of implanting so I've got evertthing crossed.

This is going to be the longest 12 days of my life....

Rotobay/piggypebs: I am SOOOOO there with you. I had my ET on Fri of 3 perfect blasts and I'm STILL terrified. I was feeling very positive 3 days ago with the ET, but I can't help but be nervous about them sticking. I haven't had any symptoms (yesterday I had what I thought were light cramps, but they were on and off). Today, nothing much and that freaks me out since the blasts should have implanted on Sat or today. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing, but once you fail once, I think the fear sticks with you until you see the BFP. My beta is on Sun -- the longest week ever!

Good luck to all. Would love to have a string of BFPS!!!!

Congrats girls!! Great news!!

I did not make it that far on 9/12/07...none of my 3 fertilized. But, your news gives me hope that someday it will happen.

BabyB-----LOL on the demi/ashton reference. I have 6 years on my DH....poor guy, he didn't know what he was getting into with my crappy eggs!! ha.

Keep us posted on the progress.....

Julie C:

I fought my DH's advances for the longest time due to the age difference. He kept insisting he wanted to date an older woman, but of course, we have all heard the old cliche -- they want to experience the older woman, not marry her. WELL, looks like I was WRONG (and happily so). After months of hanging as "friends" and me trying to set him up with my younger gal friends, he said "let me be your Ashton already"! So, I caved and hence the reference in my signature.

So sorry to hear your news, but don't give up hope. I'm using donor eggs (thus explaining quality and quantity). I'm fertile (but with the expected eggs of a 40 yr old). BUT, I carry a bad gene :( Keep your chin up.

Hey Piggypeps: Remember all it takes is one good embie and a 10-12 cell is AWESOME!! Got everything crossed for your little fighter in there!

SciT: Just what we need in this thread. A real live pregnant woman to bring us luck!! Have you had an US yet? I'm dying to know if you have more than 1.

BabyB: you better be prepared for triplets. A friend of mine had 3 perfect blasts and they transferred all 3 because of her age. She was basket case during the 2ww hoping that just one would stick, and last year she gave birth to triplets!! They are now 18 months and adorable (born a few weeks early but all healthy). She had 2 girls and a boy and they have that thing going where they;ve developed thier own language amongst themselves. It is fascinating to watch. The only downer was she had to be on bedrest for the 3rd trimester, but as she says it was a small price to pay for an insta-family!

Jule: I'm so sorry your last cycle didn't work out. I had 2 unsuccessful cycles so I know the disappointment. But everytime I had one that failed i told myself that now I'm just one cycle closer to the sucessful one. Did they use ICSI on your 3 or let them try to fertilize naturally?

Wishful: I am testing on the 27th too. I think it was SciT that started this trend of BFPs so lets keep it going! Do they have you on bedrest? I'm on it for 3 days and have a question (for anyone here if they know): Are you allowed to take a bath on bedrest? I'd be lying down, just in water, so its sort of like bedrest, right? If anyone know the answer, please let me know.

Lots and lots of sticky baby dust to all!!!

Since it seems like you ladies have a bit more experience with IVF than I , I was wondering, how do you find out all these details such as the quality of your embryos...??? I had my ER last Thursday and tomorrow (9/18) is to me my ET... everytime I talk to the girl on the phone giving me instructions I ask about details and she said that is all they tell her...all I know is that I had 4 eggs removed and all got fertilized and they were letting them grow to blasts..but shouldn't they be telling me 8 cell or whatever... this is so confusing...! I just want to know as much as possible.. :?

Hi Ladies!
Wow! This is so great that everyone is so supportive! I'm schedule to have my blood draw on the 26th, so hopefully all of us will get a BFP together!

Keddie-I did not know anything about the quality my embry until 5 minutes before my transfer. I was a nervous wreck beacuse they only retrieved 3 out of 8 follicles, 2 were good, but only 1 was fertilized. But on tranfer day it grew to 10-12 cell. So I'm crossing my fingers and toes!

Rotobay and wishfull- the next 10 days are going to be a long one for us....are you gals planning on taking a HPT before the beta? I'M TEMPTING to this weekend, then maybe not...then again...

JulieC - I'm sorry  But I do admire your courage :D

babyb (Demi :) )- I'm 39 and my eggs are both good and bad, keep your chin up.

scite- Everytime you come and visit us, you better rub your good luck on this board so we can get a BFP too!

Hello Ladies,

I am in the same boat, or rather in the same nut house. Test is on the 25th, 8 more days. This is my 2nd ivf, and the wait was not so bad on the first try (i guess i was sure it would be BFP). Does it get worse with more attempts?
i started school to keep me busy and luckily studing occupies my mind, if I can concentrate on it al all.

What restrictions do you have for the 2ww? They told me no baths!!! At least they let me shower ;) Baths relax me so too bad I cannot have them. i drink chamomile tea 4x a day to calm me down and I sleep a lot. The more I sleep, the more happy I am because more time passes.

Sticky embies to all of you!

Were they supposed to stick by now?

Hi everyone - I was told 48 hours rest and then take things eay no lifting, no baths, no swimming - no sex - much to DH disgust

Told him it was a small price to pay - LOL

I have slpet more these last few days than I have in years - I normally only manage to sleep when tored not at any opportunity - not the cast these last few days - although today not had a sleep at all :D

KEEP UP THE PMA

Ronnie, Thanks for the info! I just get worried maybe they aren't telling me details because things don't look great. I had 12 follies and they only got 4 eggs so I guess that was lucky, I was worried about that too cause lots of girls were saying they got 10 or more eggs! I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you too! It only takes one! I wish you the best!

Julie C: I'm so so sorry, that is terrible, try to keep your PMA and hopefully it will happen soon! my thoughts go out to you!
