Failed IUI, Next step IVF

Post by jm7678 »

First blog! A friend introduced me to this blog that just had two perfect baby boy twins from IVF. My husband and I started trying a year and a half ago. We started the infertility treatments and the doctor suggested IUI. Everything looked great, but his little guys just didn't want to implant. The doctor recommended that we go straight to IVF. We are deciding to wait until the beginning of the year to start the process. We just sold our house, moving into a new one that needs lot of remodeling and with the Holidays thought we would wait for the stress levels to settle down. I was just looking for some information and experiences from other people.

i can't really advise you w/ ivf yet b/c i am just starting the process. i begin my stims/injectables on the 27th and the actual ivf the week of nov 5th. but i did have 4 failed iui's a few years ago and i can tell you that that was very sad for us but the stress i am already having now doesn't even compare to then. i guess it's b/c i know that this is our last option due to financial reasons. so. it is probably a great idea that you want to wait to eleviate some of the other stresses you are dealing with.

did your DH have a strict semen analysis done yet? my RE finally tested my DH's after the 4 failed iui's and we found out that he has 98% abnormally shaped swimmers. there was a very slim chance that iui was going to work for us so now we have moved on to ivf w/ icsi.

best of luck to you!
