I am going for my 2nd IVF Cycle around the 22nd of this Month, October. I am thinking of going for Acupuncture this time to see if it makes a difference. Has anyone had any experience they can share with me and if so when should I start the treatment and how many sessions should I have. Should I continue throughout my treatment cycle?? Thankyou in anticipation.
ARG, Right after I had 2 failed IUI for unexplained infertility, I started getting acupuncture treatment. I got pregnant with the third IUI/Acupuncture. Unfortunately, I miscarried at 9 weeks but I still get the treatment. It's very relaxing. It's been 6 months since the first session and I am going for my first IVF at the end of October. I have been seeing my acupuncturist once a week then twice a week starting this week. Good luck with your treatment. By the way, two of my friends (41 and 42 years old) got pregnant with IVF/Acupuncture. They were seeing my acupuncturist for about 6 months. Keep us posted. I will be praying for you!
hi there i am on ivf num 4 i didn't do acupuncture with the other 3 but i have done with this cycle i go for egg collection tomorrow and transfer on Friday so i dont know if it will make any difference to the outcome but i have been a lot calmer this time so if nothing else this cycle drug wise has been very easy and im much more relaxed and positive this time
I would highly recommend accupuncture treatments in parallel with IVF cycles. On my last successfull cycle I did accupuncure. I started accupuncture 2 months prior to the cycle (once a week), then towards beginning of the cycle I was seen twice a week, up until the day of transfer. I am confident that the treatments are very helpful, plus they help relieve stress, and its so important to be stress free while undergoing IVF!
I have also been doing acupunture for 6 months now. I didn't do it for my first ivf last yr. and I m/c at 6.5 wks. I agree it is very relaxing if nothing else. I do recommend it. Even though I don't know how it will affect this ivf cycle-scheduled for this month, I am hopeful it has improved egg quality. My recommendation is to speak with your RE and see if they work with an acu. If not make sure you find one that specializes in fertility and works with ivf patients.....they will determine how much treatment you need.
