baby heartbeat slow?

Post by sarahc »

Hello,

I am hoping to get some honest opinions and experiences so here I am!

At 6 weeks we saw our little one and one other sac! Doc says the other sac was an attempt at implanting, also he said the baby heartbeat was slow even though the size was correct. The heartbeat was 88 bpm. He said he wanted it to be 120 +, also my beta was only 60 when we first found out about pregnancy. (10 dpt)

Do you think the baby will be okay or does it sound risky? Doc wasn't reasurring which i can take as long as it is honest!! Also - maybe a long shot?? but any chance baby2 could have "caught up"?

Sorry if this seems silly but with our next scan in 5 days i am just passing the time wondering. I am now 8 weeks.

Thanks alot.

Hi Sarah,
At exactly 6 weeks, my babies HB was 94. The tech who did the scan and the doctor were not worried at all and forbid me from researching heartrates on the Internet. They said the heart had just formed and the rate would pick up. At my last scan, just before the 8 week mark, the HB was up to 144. I think you should relax!
Good luck!!!!
Michelle
