Micro-flare, anyone?

Hi,

I had a cancelled cycle due to low response. Produced only 4 follies and 2 eggs retrieved. Out of the 2, 1 was abnormal, and the other did not fertilize. RE recommended micro-flare protocol in my next cycle. Anyone on this protocol? How different is this from the conventional ones?

I posted a rather long reply on the other thread. I just gave you a run down on my history , in the hopes you won't lose heart. It's heartbreaking to have a cycle cancelled so far into it. My thoughts are with you.

Hopealways- I am sorry for your cancelled cycle. I have never had one cancelled, but I imagine it is difficult. Don't give up. My first cycle was crap. 3 eggs retrieved that were mature. Only 2 fertilized and they put them back on day 3 looking pretty sad. That was on a long cycle with BCP's and a lupron shot, then stimms. My body just didn't respond and produce eggs like we thought it would. They upped the dosage at the end and it still didn't help.

2nd cycle was the flare cycle and it worked wonders. I got 6 great eggs. All of them fert. and all made it to day 3 looking great. We put 2 in. The rest made it to day 5 and were frozen. And most importantly- we got pregnant!!

I thought after Cycle 1 it just wasn't meant to be, but the dr. didn't give up and totally changed up the meds and it worked!

I wish you the best of luck with the flare cycle. I hope you have the same outcome I did!!

Thanks and congrats on your pregnancy!!!

Hopefully the microflare protocol works for me. I think I will go for acupuncture session to improve my odds.
