rest time after ER and ET??????

Post by Tracy S »

I was just wondering how long you and your REs suggested as a resting period before returning to normal activity after ER and ET?

Tracy,

I was up and about the next day after ER. No pain or soreness, but that could be because I was a poor responder. After transfer, RE put me on 3 days of strict bedrest (only getting up to use the restroom). I took a 4th day and was up, but not out of the house. From what I've read, the norm is usually 3 days or so, but I have seen some ladies on these boards whose protocols do not include any bedrest. I really think it depends on the RE.

Best of luck to you.

Hi Tracey
I wasn't told to have any rest at all by my doctor i just made sure for the next week or so i did nothing to strenuas (?spelling) but i tell you on my 2nd cycle we were so sick of waiting for our transfer as they were running incredibly late we left almost immediately after the et and because there was no parking close to the hospital we had to practically hike up a very steep hill to get to our car which was real work it was a shoking hill and i cant understand how they could have it so close to a hospital especially with people in wheelchairs and needing walking aids and so on coming and going. the point im making is i got my BFP on that cycle and now have a DS so i don't think you need to worry to much just remember not to overheat and dont lift anything heavy like any pregnant women shouldnt. Hope this helps goodluck ill be watching for you BFP announcement

My RE didn't require anything...I came home from ER and layed on couch all day. Starting feeling really sore that evening and did for the next 3 days- like almost hurt to walk- so I walked very slow- I had my students watch a movie so I didn't have to do much. I went back to work for 2 days and then took the 3rd day off (b/c I thought i was having ET that day- it got pushed back to day 5), but 4th day after ER I was just about back to normal. After ET, I rested, but didn't stay in bed or on the couch all day. Basically, went from laying or sitting on couch to computer or bathroom. The day after I went shopping for an hour- I haven't done anything strenuous, but I've felt absolutley fine after transfer.

Different people respond differently though.

Thanks for sharing ladies! As you may already know, I don't even start the injections until the first week of January, but am trying to gather all of the information that I can so I have an idea of what to expect. Have a wonderful day, and thanks again! Hopefully we will all have BFP announcements to make soon! :D
