How old were your twins the first time you left them?

Post by kholtan »

Having a HUGE problem even thinking about doing this and am just curious? DH would really love me to join him in our winter sports but I just cannot imagine leaving my 17 week old babies. On the other hand, it is very important for me to stay connected to dh and have a good time with him as well. Just looking to see what is normal and hear what everyone did to prepare emotionally and technically.

Thanks!

I don't have twins but I am having the same kinda' separation anxiety issue. I have not left my baby even with his grandma(s) even once. One big issue is bfeeding. I feed him on demand so I can not go away. I seem to have problems trusting anyone but my husband. He did care for him and I was gone for up to 4 hrs. several times to the university and to the hospital where I occasionally volunteer.

Congrats Deepa on the 4 hour hand off. 20 minutes has been my max. . . once to go get diapers at the drug store. B-feeding is a problem although mine both take a bottle but I just can't leave. There are things I would like to do but when I am presented the opportunity I chicken out.

Hi Kimberly,
Do you have any family around? Try combining hubby w/ a helping hand for a couple of hours. I go to the health club occasionally for 1-2 hrs. and it is really helping me. They also have a day care at the club which I plan to use in a month when little Noah turns 6 mo. Is that something you would consider? Of course, I still have no idea what I will give the baby care for food because my DS is on a formula strike at the moment and I can not pump enough to save ahead. I can only demand feed.

So far, my husband and I never went out together but we don't mind.

HI Kimberly....
You need to go have fun with DH but it is hard...I left Lukas when he was 9 weeks with my DH and mother...I had a conference a few hours away from home...I was gone 2 nights...Even though I am not back to work until Jan 7th I had to go the conference...It was great for me...I was happy to get home to see him but DH had an awesome time "bonding" with him....Try going to dinner with the girls or something...It might do you and the babes some good....Good Luck and remember they will be OK....Good Luck....
Are you ready for another round of IVF? LOL
