Great news: u/s today!!

Post by gori »

Hi to all the wonderful women, who have been so supportive of my posts/questions. We had our first u/s today (at 7 weeks): And we heard the heart-beat of our little one!!!
We are so.........excited...yet cautiously optimistic [since I had a m/c last year at 12 weeks, so I find myself being reminded of that constantly :( ]
Hearing the heart-beat of your little one is the best thing, I guess, the second best to holding your little one in your arms :) And there is only one gestational sac & one baby...that's exactly what we wanted [I was worried about twin-twin transfusion in case the egg split & resulted in twins in the same sac]!!
I also had some spotting/bleeding [red/brown] on/off for last 3-4 days so that had me really worried. Even though that has stopped now, is that an indication of pre-term labor at later stages? Anyway, luckily all went well today. The other thing is that my HCGs have been quite high for a singleton, hope that does not mean anything negative? Also, the yolk sac is 1.9mm, on the smaller side. Should be between 2.5-5mm but fertility center said not to worry & follow-it up with an u/s in 7-10 days. Any thoughts? Our worries never end :) Touchwood, baby's growth seems fine & is measuring up-to 7 weeks!!
Thanks again for all your support! That is always very helpful.

Gori, congratulations! I was thinking about you today knowing you were having your US and I logged on to send you a message and I saw your post. It's too bad you have so many little things that are still worrying you. But like so many people always say, it seems we never stop worrying, and that is normal! Good luck with everything and congratulations again!
