Does anyone have any advice on how to speed things up? I know thats a long shot, probably just have to wait for my body to do its own thing.

Hey nic - I just posted this same question a few weeks ago when AF was 2 weeks late. My RE actually ended up having me inject 2cc's of progesterone to "induce" it. Even when you do that, they told me it could take 2 weeks to get. AF came for me 7 days after my injection. I also went and got a massage to help me relax get the blood flowing...AF came 2 days after that. My acupuncturist also told me to try drinking lots of...oh shoot...some kind of juice. Not prune juice...um...crap, I can't remember. Oh...Pomegranate (sp?) juice! The fact of the matter is, I don't know if any of these things helped, but if mentally, you feel like you are doing something to help, then that is probably all you need. I feel your pain...it it SO frustrating! But hang in there girl, you're body will let you know when it's ready to take on another cycle...
I'm glad AF arrived for you. When is your next cycle planned for? Must be soon I'm guessing?
I'm keeping everything crossed that my hcg level is negative today.......only then will AF come.
Let me know anout your plans.
Nikki

My AF is very late too... I am almost 2 1/2 weeks late now... got AF after the 2nd(failed) IVF, now I am on CD 45, some occassional cramping... but nothing else. Did an HPT hoping for a miracle, but no luck. Now I just have to wait out...
Good luck on your next attempt... This is our year!
Corny...thats right around the corner....you must be excited to get going again!
Ammu, I'm right there with you. Maybe we can perform a dancing in the rain with sticks ritual to bring on AF? I'll try almost anything at this point.
I haven't heard back from the RE yet about my bw ealrier this am but I did POAS earlier and its still positive so I think my blood result will be at least 25....unless the pee stick is faulty

I am also waiting for AF. It should have come on Fri or yesterday. I am usually pretty regular (usually about 28-29 days). I do have cramping. I've had 5 IVF cycles, and I am usually early w/ the first 4 failed IVF's. But this one was different as I was on the progestrone shots for a longer time. I had an etopic. Shortly after my methotroxite (sp?) shot on Dec. 7 I did get a period on Dec. 16. But now I am running a little later than usual. I can't do anything anyway right now because I guess you have to wait about 2 months after the meth. shot. The literture said 2 months while the nurse has said 6 weeks. I have a follow up phone appointment w/ my doctor on the 21st. I am a little up in the air as to what I will do. We always said we would do 6 IVF cycles and then stop after that no matter what happens (we picked 6 because that's how many our insurance company will pay for at 100%). But then we have had really bad experiences w/ the 2 clinics we've been at and we can't travel. However, I am reconsidering trying one more time. However, my husband is looking for another job and if he finds one quickly we will lose our current insurance. We would get other insurance, but we would have to pay 20% out of pocket and don't have lots of extra cash right now (home heating oil, gas, etc seem to suck up the pay check) and husband will probably take a pay cut. So, hoping that if we do decide to do it one more time, it'll go quickly b4 husband leaves this current job.
But in the meantime, hoping AF will come so we can start process sooner than later.
kbat, I canfeel your frustration. I really hope AF arrives for you soon.
Just an update for me.....and a little vent (sorry). I had my beta drawn on Friday morning. Now any of you who have been through this know how it is waiting for the phone to ring with results all day. So, my phone never rang with the results I was going to wait til monday but it is a big deal to me to know what the result is and we pay SO much money for this service that the least the nurse can do is follow up and make a quick phone call. After all, its only going to take her minutes and it would mean so much to me. So I called the after hours nurse at about 6pm Friday, she told me to call back Monday (tut). So I took matters into my own hands this evening and called the lab myself, they wouldn't give me my results but did call the oncall nurse with them. So I called the on call nurse again and she finally told me my results. She was quite annoyed with me, I could tell by her tone, but don't you all agree that a 5 minute call is no big deal???? I'm a nurse myself and when I used to be on call after hours I would deal with much bigger things than a simple phone call to help someone have a better day! OK, I'm done ranting now, but these nurses...honestly!?! The good news out if it all is that my level was 11!!! YAY, getting closer

I can say from experience that one of my biggest problems w/ my current clinic is that they are not so good about doing follow-up calls. I switched clinics, so this is my 2nd one. On #4, I had my e/r and was waiting for a call about e/t. I was told that the nurse should call me between 3-6. I thought this seemed a little odd since my nurse in my satellite office is there only until about 4-4:15. At about 4:30, I called and of course got the answering machine. At about 5:30 and got the answering machine. Of course both times, the machine gave out a number for someone to page. I decided to call the paged number a little after 6. This gave every opportunity for my nurse to check the messages and give me a call. When I called the after hours nursed, she was so surprised that I didn't get a call. After all that, I was told no e/t because eggs were not good quality. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. You want to know what's going on and especially when you think that you are going to have e/t the next day, you would think that someone would call you back. My nurse did call me in the morning to say that she did have the result early in the day, but that she thought a doctor (not my doctor since she was on vacation) was going to call me back. I am not very fond of my nurse. She doesn't seem to like her job. I dread calling her because she makes you feel like you are imposing. I once saw her in an elevator and said good morning--how are you. She looked at me like she wasn't in a good mood. Just seems like she's not happy w/ what she does. Another time, I got AF on the week-end. I called and left a message at 12:30 and awaited my instructions. the messages get checked up until 2 by nurses at the main office until 2. By 5:15, still no call back so I paged them. I knew the instructions would be come in on Sun for ultrasound and b/w, but needed appointments. I just don't understand why these nurses just don't do their jobs. If they don't like their jobs, why bother. I think in the medical field they need more compassionate people. At least at clinic #1, they were extremely good about call backs--never had a problem w/ the nurses there, really.
Woke up during night w/ bad cramps--usually I don't get very bad cramps. Looks like A/F decided to make its appearance finally.
If im not wrong we were buddies in November.
Sorry to hear you m/c
I had BFN and my AF take ages to come. Basically it came straight after i've stopped the progesterone and then the December AF did not come. It came after 43days! I also asked here about the late AF and ppl said it is normal for AF be late or miss a month.
It's frustrating...i know! We just want it back do we can move on to the next cycle isn't it?
I will have a natural FET in March so i will ring the clinic when i have AF in Feb. Who knows we cycle together again!
Hope everything goes well this time round for you.

I am new here, but I am also waiting for AF to arrive. This will be our very 1st IVF cycle, so when AF gets here it's BCPs for me. I hope everything goes well for you all! Funny how we are all praying for AF to arrive, especially when we used to dread her.
Yeah I too am waiting for AF so I can start BCP for my 2nd IVF. She usually comes around 32-34 days and now because I am waiting for her to come she still hasn't and it is 39 days today!! Man she always does what you don't want her to do!!! I am waithing for her to come and I am scared that she won't cooperate with the schedule. I am doing a study and I am worried that she will come and then when I call them that they will say that it is too late I won't be able to be part of the study!! I am watching and waiting!! Good luck ladies!! I hope good ol' AF comes soon for all of you!!
