HI GIRLS(AND GUY"S)
ME AND MY WIFE WERE ON THIS SITE LAST YEAR WHEN WE WERE ATTEMPTING OUR 4TH GO AT I.V.F HEAR IS OUR STORRY SO FAR.
WIFE HAD BLOCKED TUBES SO WAS ADVISED IVF,
WE WAITED 6 YEARS FOR OUR FREE GO ON THE N.H.S., WHEN WE WERE CALLED AND TOLD IT WAS OUR TURN WE WERE DELIGHTED BUT AFTER ALL THE USUAL TESTS AND QUESTIONS IT WAS ANOTHER YEAR B4 WE ACTUALLY HAD THE CYCLE.
WIFEY PRODUCED 12 EGGS OF WHICH 9 TURNED TO EMBIES,HAD 3 PUT BACK AND 6 WERE PUT IN THE FREEZER. AFTER THE 2WW IT WAS NEGATIVE NOT SURPRISED AS WE HAD TO HAVE OUR 3 YEAR OLD DOG PUT TO SLEEP THE SAME DAY !!!! (MASSIVE STRESS).
AS WE HAD USED OUR FREE GO WE NOW HAD TO FINANCE OUR NEXT TRY,
THAT WAS UNTILL WE DISCOVERED "EGG SHARING". WE WERE TREATED IN THE CROMWELL HOSPITAL IN SWANSEA AFTER WIFEY WAS MATCHED UP WITH A RECEIPIENT. WIFEY PRODUCED 8 EGGS WHICH WERE SHARED 4 EACH 2 EMBIES WERE PUT BACK WHICH WAS A POSITIVE PREGGIE, WENT FOR SCAN WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE NON PREGGIE MUST OF MC.
THAT DID NOT PUT US OFF SO WE ASKED IF WE COULD HAVE ANOTHER TRY AT EGG SHARING . WE WERE TOLD YES, ANOTHER 8 EGGS AFTER SHARING ONLY 2 WERE GOOD ENOUGH TO PUT BACK. WAS A POSITIVE PREGGIE UNTILL ABOUT 6 WEEKS AFTER THE TEST WIFEY WAS RUSHED INTO HOSPITAL WITH A DOUBLE ECTOPIC PREGGIE !!!! HAD EMERGENCY OP AND LOST BOTH TUBES DURING THE OP.THAT WAS IT AS FAR AS WE WERE CONCERNED ESPECIALLY CATCHING NATURAL.WE DECIDED TO HAVE THE CHEEK AND ASK AGAIN IF WE COULD EGG SHARE THIS WAS OUR THIRD GO AT IVF 1 WITH N.H.S. THE OTHER 3 WITH CROMWELL EGG SHARING. WIFEY PRODUCED ONLY 5 EGGS WHICH WAS NOT ENOUGH TO SHARE AND WERE TOLD WE COULD HAVE THEM ALL WAS SURPRISED AND 2 EMBIES WERE PUT BACK. ON DECEMBER THE 16TH AT 16 MINS PAST 3 PM BABY MEGAN WAS BORN 8 POUND 2 OZS. AND ALL OF THE 4 TREATMENTS DID NOT EVEN COST US £100. THE MORAL OF ALL THIS IS "DONT EVER GIVE UP"
KEEP GOING AS LONG AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.

WE ARE NOW STARTING OUR 5TH IVF BUT WE AHAVE TO PAY FOR THIS OUR SELF AT A COST OF £3,270 WHO ARE WE TO COMPLAIN.DONT THINK SO ..
WILL KEEP LOGGING ON TO SEE HOW YOU ARE ALL DOING.
I AM HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU ASK.
ALL THE BEST MR WALES..XX

I'm trying again after 2 goes at et one cancelled tmt and we tried to get eggs to blastocyst but they did not make it. so i'm having another go and should have ec next week. some times i think i'm banging my head against a brick wall but reading your story has given me so much more hope..

well all the best with your tmt
july ann

Hi

Its nice to hear a happy ending. I'm sorry to hear about your dog too. I would be devasted if anything happened to Arthur or Jeremy (they are my two dogs - who are also 3!) No wonder the tmt didn't work. What happened to him/her?

Good luck with this go - let hope its less traumatic than your other attempts!

nikola.x
Congratulations on your daughter and good luck on round 5. I'm sure you'll have an easier time.

As the others mentioned, it is reassuring to hear a positive outcome following so many challanges - thanks for sharing.
Mr Wales

Hello again! I just wanted to wish you all the best with your new cycle. I haven't looked on the general board for mths so it was a surprise to see your message when I did. A blast from the past.

Glad all is well with Megan. Max is now 9 mths, crawling all over the house and keeping us entertained and smiling. Mr & Mrs Wales and of course Megan,

This is like a mini reunion!!! I just popped over to scan the general board for the first time in ages and Wow...., you guys and Beck & Jack and Dee and Max. There really are some amazing success stories coming out of this site.

Rebecca and Ross are now 16 months (15 months corrected) and Rebecca took her first proper steps yesterday and Ross is being a typical boy and will only walk with a baby walker!!! Can't believe how time has flown.

All the best with your next attempt and so good to hear from you all again...maybe we can start a Baby and Toddler section on the site...might just suggest this to Marcus!!!

Take care and love to all
Nicky
WOW IT WAS SO NICE TO HEAR OF ALL OF YOU OLDIES.
ESPECIALLY DEE AS WE WERE ON THE SAME TREATMENT WEEKS.
ITS SO GOOD TO HEAR ALL OUR BABIES ARE DOING REAL GOOD AS WELL.
I EXPECT YOU ALL THINK WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER CYCLE A BIT EARLY?
WELL UNFORTUNATLY TIME IS NOT ON OUR SIDE AS IN WIFE'S AGE (36)
DONT LET HER KNOW I TOLD YOU THAT). AS YOU ALL KNOW THE EGGS START TO BE LESS OF A GOOD QUALITY FROM THE AGE OF 35 UPWARDS SO WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED AND TOLD THAT IT IS FINE TO PROCEED WITH MORE TREATMENT.WIFEY HAS A SCAN 2MORROW TO SEE IF THE LINING OF THE WOMB IS THICKENING UP IF IT IS IT'S ON TO THE NEXT COURSE OF INJECTIONS, OH AND WE GOT TO HAND OVER THE THE BEST PART OF £3,500.( gulp )good to hear of you and keep checking in to see how we r doing. all the best ladies & guys .
the wales's xx
hi mr wales
i'm not far from swansea just wondered if you've ever had treatment at the heath? i phoned cromwell last yr about egg share but due to womens probs they said its unlikely i'd be accepted.
i hope it all goes well for you and your wife.
ttc for 13 years 3 iui's, and 4 ivf's, losing faith in ivf clinic!
yes cath we had our very first ivf cycle at the heath.
they were very fussy whilst having treatment there, wifey had to go to the hospital every other day for blood tests ect.
compared to cromwell we personally was not happy with the whole afair.

there were too many "trainee" nurses who were hands on.
but we were not to complain as we waited 6 years to have the treatment there. also had 6 embies frozen which for some strange reason none survived the thawing process.

why were you not allowed to egg share at cromwell ??
all the best wales.
How wonderful to hear that after all your pain and determination it paid off. You've given me hope and I'm just starting. I too am 36 and have blocked tubes and a cyst on my ovarie, we have waited 3years but we get to have 3 go's.

So fingers crossed and lots of ++++++++ to you both on your next try

Nicky xxx
Hi all

Great to hear from you all. Definitely a good idea to have a site for IVF babies/mums. I feel like I don't really belong on any of the other sites these days. Even on the Pregnant site there is such a lot of bad news these days and I am never really sure whether people want to hear from a 'lady with a baby'. And when I feel like that I tend to err on the side of caution and not post. I can remember that feeling too clearly - not wanting to speak to anyone with a baby and then feeling guilty for feeling like that - it's horrible.

I'm glad you and your little ones are all well. I don't know about you, but over the last couple of mths, since I have started to get more sleep and feel less knackered, the enormity of what we have achieved has really hit me. I have been having some very emotional moments. To be honest this is partly why I haven't jumped on the IVF band wagon again yet. I really don't know if I am emotionally ready yet. Although I would love Max to have a little brother/sister to play with. And like Mrs Wales the old tick tock is going in the background (I am 37) ... although I am trying not to dwell on this. We'll see - some day I guess we will have to just bite the bullet.

Anyway, I'm starting to ramble. Just wanted to say Great to Hear From You All!!

Love
Dee xxx.
