Hi. My name is Denise...I am 35. I am married to Kyle who is 33. We just got married 2 1/2 years ago. I have 4 children from a previous marriage. My husband was also previously married, but didn't have any children with his 1st wife.
I had a tubal ligation 8/2001 after the birth of my 4th child.
After I met Kyle...and got married again...I had a tubal reversal 3/2006.
We have been TTC ever since.
I have been on numerous rounds of clomid.
Now I am doing clomid, followed by gonal-f and ovidrel.
We had an IUI in November, which did not work.
I am wondering if anyone has had any success with these medication??? we have unexplained infertility and it is very frustrating! Please share any stories you have with me. Thanks..

I've had 5 IVF cycles. This very last one I had taken Clomid for 5 days (starting on day 2). I also did gonal-f. Then I was also taking gonerelix once a day--they had me get 5 days worth, but I three left over from another cycle w/ a different RE--so the pharmacy told me to use those first before getting anymore. I only used two of them. Then I did ovidrel as my trigger shot.
I am generally a poor responder--I don't get a lot of eggs. This time I had 2 that were pretty good size one that was medium size and lots of smaller ones. I thought for sure that they would allow the medium size one to get a little bigger before trying-- but they had me go in w/ the 2 bigger ones. Usually the get 3 or 4 and the last time they got 6.
The 5th one where I took clomid, gonal-f, ganerelix (for 2 nights) and ovidrel (and of course the progestrone after the e/t) ended up being the best show I had while doing any fertility treatments--even though I didn't get the result I wanted.
My numbers were very low when I went in for my pregnancy test, and they weren't going up as fast as they were supposed to. Bottom line I was pregnant, but it ended up being etopic. So, in the end it seemed to work--just settled in the wrong place. So not an total failure. I've gotten pregnant once before naturally and that ended in m/c at about week 10--told it stopped growing around week 8.5-9 weeks. I never got this far w/ 3 IUI's and my previous 4 IVF's. Even the doctor said that she finally got me pregnant and then it just didn't settle where it was supposed to.
The only other thing that I did that was different than the rest of the treatments was acupuncture. It was so relaxing and I really do think it helped w/ the quality of embryo. The first 2 IVF's I had they did a day 2 transfer (I was at a different clinic) and they never really waited to the 3rd day to see how they were dividing and what kind of quality they were. IVF's 3 and 4 I had no egg transfer--once due to no fertilization and the second time because they weren't dividing growing properly (starting w/ #4 I was with a different clinic who waits until at least day 3 to transfer so they get a better idea what's going on.) #5, although it was only 2 embryos, I was told by the person who did they egg transfer that the quality looked good as good as any of the others that she did that day. She also said that it was good b/c both of mine fertilized and looked good, but there are others who have a lot more eggs and sometimes they only get 2 in the end.
So, don't know if it was the different meds or the acupuncture or a combination of the two that seemed to work for me. I am doing one final cycle (#6), and my re said to do the same thing w/ the drugs and w/ the acupuncture.--although I did see one change on the plan that was sent to me--and that was an estrogen patch AFTER the e/t. I would assume that's maybe it will help prevent what happened w/ #5. But thinking if that regiment helped me get as far as I did, then why changed something that seemed to get me this far.
