Hi ladies-
I wanted to share this story with yall just because I think its important that we don't neglect our bodies while trying to get our BFP's!
About a year ago I discovered a lump in my armpit. As a healthcare provider, I know that any lump needs to be investigated; but as a woman trying to get pregnant I was in denial. As the months progressed I noticed the lump would grow during my cycle and then get smaller, but it was still there. When I did think about it I would go crazy thinking, could it be cancer? What if I have to have surgery? What if it screws up my arm and my career?
Of course, the RE insisted I have it looked at by a surgeon, and bascially said IVF was on hold until then. The whole day of the appt I was scared out of my mind, and yet all I could think of is -what if it puts IVF on hold longer? Will I still get to have my baby?
Luckily for me the surgeon immediately told me it was ectopic breast tissue and it was benign, and I did not have to have it removed. She said it was just like normal breast tissue that swells during the cycle, just in the wrong place.
My point is this- please, please dont ever go a year without having a lump checked! With all the hormones being injected into your bodies, you need to be extra vigilant about your body and if anything new pops up. Praise the Lord that my case was benign, but who knows until you have an expert look at it. Early identification of any lump will only help the situation.

FYI regarding lumps and bumps
... I had a few lumps of different sizes in my right armpit a few years back. This is when I was still single and not even trying to have a baby. Anyways, I got sent to my dermatologist. I thought I was through w/ him because I haven't had a break out in acne since I completed treatment for years.
He told me, "as long as you have skin, there will always be a need for you to see me." He examined the lumps. And then I was given those painful injections in the cyst-like bumps. They did subside. And when they did, lots of exudate/pus came out.

I am sorry chelly - I completely forgot that you were getting this looked into - what a bad cyber buddy I am! So happy it was benign! Praise God - now on to the task of making babies!

Looking back I think not knowing was the worst part. Every week I get atleast one patient in my clinic that have had some type of cancer, and let me tell you, it is rough. Early diagnosis is the key to the best outcome, so I just want to make sure we don't neglect ourselves during our 'baby quest'!!
