Empty sac?

I had my 6 week 3 day ultrasound today and the doctor saw the yolk sac but was unable to see the baby or the heartbeat.

They want me to come back next week to re-check but it doesn't look like the pregnancy stuck.
They said it might be due to late implantation so next week they'd know for sure.

Has anyone had this happen and still had a heartbeat at the next ultrasound?

It's possible to miss the heartbeat at 6 weeks 3 days. It happens.

Sorry to hear your news, I had the same thing happen to me - the clinic said it was quite possible for the embie to be 'hidding' as they are still so small. Unfortunately for me that wasn't the case, but there were other girls who had been through the same thing and saw a heartbeat at the next u/s.

Easier said than done but hang in there and stay positive - anything is possible!

The exact same thing happened with me. They told me it was called a blighted ovum. The first u/s was just an empty sac and they said it didn't look good but to come back in a week for another u/s in case of late implantation. So a week later still nothing. I'm so sorry for you. No women should have to experience this, and especially those who go through IVF.

Hi, same things happened to me. I started spotting & panicked. Went for my u/s at 6.2 weeks. They saw a yolk sac but no heartbeat. Next week, we did u/s again [at 7 weeks] & heartbeat was there. Good Luck to you!
