Spotting with prog supp?

Hi Girls!

Tomorrow I will be 5 weeks pregnant and have been doing progesterone suppositories since e/r on 3/7. Yesterday and today I had some spotting (pinkish red, stained my undies) and (yes, this is TMI) had a small red clot (size of a BB) when I wiped. My dr. wants to switch me to PIO shots because she thinks that the prog suppos. may be irritating my insides. Has this happened to anyone else? I hope that the spotting is from that and not something else more serious.

Anxious to get your thoughts....

It didn't happen to me while doing suppositories but once I couldn't do PIO (my butt was so hard the needle would pop out) and swtiched to all suppositories my RE mentioned that it is common to spot while using the suppositories and less common with PIO. Good luck

The suppositories will irritate your cervix and spotting is common because of it. I have heard about lots of girls on here mention the same thing. I have been doing PIO shots since Jan 26th and am doing okay on them. Only 10 more days and I am done with them. Good Luck.

Hmm ... I had the spotting you described with PIO injections @ week 9. Dr. advised me to get off my feet, relax and then increase my doses to PIO 2cc twice a day for two weeks.
