Pregnancy headaches: an unlikely cure?

Post by LostGirl »

I keep getting pregnancy headaches, which is normal, or so my ob gyn tells me. I try to drink a couple sips of caffeine or loads of water. I've only taken Tylenol twice, because I don't find it works for me, pregnant or not!

But you know what oddly DOES work? Gatorade. I haven't drunk sports drinks much since I got pregnant and stopped exercising like a crazy woman, because who needs that corn syrup and fast sugars unless you're doing 45-min or longer bouts of exercise.

But yesterday I had some sips of my husband's and poof my three hour headache evaporate.

Today same thing. Of course, I'm too paranoid to become a Gatorade abuser because of the colorings. Ick. And corn syrup. Double ick.

But i thought I'd share my unusual headache cure... lostgirl

You may want to be careful with that sugar intake. What worked for me (my obgyn suggested it) was eating more protein. Just peanut butter did it when I was real busy.

Gotcha. I eat plenty of protein too. Had a fat pork chop last night! For some reason a little simple sugars is helping with the headaches. But I get what you're saying, I wouldn't want to get gestational diabetes. Lostgirl
