Protocol question for Ghost

Post by Nadia123 »

Ghost,

I wonder if you can help me. In my last IVF attempt, my doctor used a protocol based on clomid, he said it was good for poor responders. After I did not get pregnant, he said I should try lupron microflare. But, after meeting with him for my next attempt at IVF, he changed his mind back to the clomid protocol. Any ideas which is better? I'm 38 and 1/2. Last IVF attempt I was able to get 8 eggs and 4 fertilized to be excellent quality--but no implantation.

Any ideas?
Anyone have success with the clomid protocol?

Thanks,
Nadia

I have not studied the clomid cycles much, but I am becoming a big fan of the Lupron flare protocols in low responders. It's worked well at my clinic and the published reports I've seen sing its praises.

Ghost- What % of success rates are you seeing with the flare protocal in low responders? I begin on Friday. Any words of encouragement would be helpful!!!! I am just hoping for one good egg!!!!!

I don't recall the success rates, but I do recall noticing that several prior low responders produced many more eggs on the flare protocol.
