Menopur vs Repronex??

Post by jcurlygirl »

Question for everyone. I am suppose to take Menopur, and hear that there is a nationwide shortage so my Dr. ordered Repronex instead. Anyone in the same boat? I would think if there was a shortage then there would be some out there with the same situation. I am wondering if the different med makes any difference in the outcome? Anyone with positive results on Bravelle and Repronex?

Thanks I am feeling discouraged and worried.

Is there a shortage at all pharmacies? That is weird. I used menopur and bravelle from schraft's pharmacy...I got a BFP. Plus if you order 20 vials of bravelle from schrafts (cash) you get 5 of them free. I would check with different pharmacies if you are concerned with the response from repronex.
Good luck!

Hello I was ordered Menopur for my cycle(i am day 5 of stims). I received my meds the last week in May and I was substitued Repronex in place of Menopur due to this nationwide shortage. I received my meds from Schrafts. They told me that Menopur and Repronex are the exact same thing. I know you can interchange them cause I am having a severe rash reaction to the repronex so my clinic gave me Menopur to try so I am taking Menopur day 5 and 6 and Repronex day 1-4 and day 7-9. By the way I have no reaction to the menopur so there is some difference in it somewhere. Since I can't get Menopur I will have to finish off my cycle with Repronex IM.

Hope this helps and I didn't get too long winded

I have always done Bravelle and Repronex and this cycle got a BFP (the only cycle I made it to transfer). I responded well in all cycles using those meds. I always used Repronex instead of Menopur because my insurance would only cover Repronex, not Menopur for some reason, but my RE's office told me they were essentially the same thing.

Good luck!

I also got a BFP on my first IVF and used. Repronex from the begining. All went well!

I too used bravelle and menopur but needed a refill so had to use repronex. I got a severe reaction to the repronex. They are the same drug but I agree there are some differences.
I am hoping for a BFP with these drugs!
