Hi - I have a 7-and-a-half-month old boy who is healthy and happy, and growing very fast. He was the result of one round of IVF and we are very blessed.
It has been hot and humid where we live and just in the last day or so he has been doing this thing with his eyes. They look fine, if just a tiny bit bloodshot. But he's been occassionally blinking very hard, almost wincing. It's not often, but I noticed it several times.
I know I am liable to overeract and worry, but is this something I should be freaked out about?
Baby is blinking hard...is that bad?
I'm not sure if this is helpful or not but my little guy who is 9.5 months makes all sorts of faces now and one of them is the one you describe. He laughs at himself afterwards and thinks he is a real joker but maybe your baby is playing with facial muscles and making new expressions? His twin sister doesn't ever do it but he is constantly making silly faces now and noises to match.
I really wouldn't worry about it but if you are uncomfortable with it just call your Pediatrician. Can't hurt. Good luck!

I'm not an actual mommy but i am an aunty to many, i read this and it brought back so many memories... one of my nephews used to roll his eyes, it freaked us out, he would be sitting there then just roll his eyes back in his head and of course falling backwards as they went...very odd ....well that little boy is oooo 28 years old now ...i'm pleased to say he stopped doing it and it wasnt a problem.
I agree with kholtan i would ask about it ... oh and a tip you cant ever be over protective just a whole lotta love going on.
I'm sure your little guy is just playing with a new thing he found out he can do....oh and look at the attention i get when i do it?!!!!! way to freak mommy out

What you describe reminds me of something my nephew used to do with his eyes when he was less than a year old. He would bug his eyes out repeatedly. Seems he was just discovering a new eye muscle and playing with it. Well, he got over it, it was just a phase. I reckon your son's strong blinking will pass as well. Doesn't sound like a big deal at all.
