Is there hope :(

Post by Tris »

Well lets start with my beta at 120 then 12 days later which was yesterday it was 1792, I went for the 2nd beta cuz I started to discharge (not really bleed) brown/ marroon stuff...little blood but mostly brownish discharge coming constantly now for many days which worried me (its slowing down now). I am also exactly 4weeks pt and during u/s done at the same time, nothing really was seen.

I need to know if theres hope. If anyone experienced low betas and felt everything lost only to see later that HCG goes up and a sac starts to form?? (although doc says that even if my beta is low at this time, its still within range).

Please share your experiences as I really need some light. I wait another 3 days before the next u/s. Also at 4 weeks do you really see anything like the sac for example or can it still grow later on if nothing is seen now :( Im really still hoping all will be well and that he baby will grow well...

Hoping for positive stories and advise

Hi Tris,

I'm pregnant for the very first time so I'm no expert by any means. But my first beta was 73 and the next one three days later was 178.

I went in for a u/s at 6 wks and they could see the sac there was nothing in it. Then at 7wks I went in agan and they saw a heartbeat and said everything was great.

I don't know about the bleeding but from what I've read is you shouldn't really worry about brown spotting (it could still be from implantantion) unless it is really red.

I don't think you should worry too much at this point. Just take it easy, relax, and think positive thoughts.

Good luck.

Thank you! your reply really helped :) Its just too much the roller coaster ride! Oneday your up with good results and the next your unsure...plus every girl seems to be experiencing different things. I also heard that at 4 weeks with less than 2000 beta you dont even see anything so yes ill really just pray now, relax and hope for the best...my next ultra is in 2 days...

Thanks again for taking time and good luck...ill update :)

I'd say with those beta numbers, things look very promising! I know some women's betas more than double every 2 days, but a 60% increase is the protocol, I believe, which I think is about what yours is doing. 4 weeks is way too early to see anything. 7 week ultrasounds are a much more reliable indicator. I remember that waiting for that u/s was agonizing, but it will come soon enough. Lots of luck! Think positive!

Snapper,
Hi. I want to take a minute to encourage you, because I know how difficult IVF is.
My husband and I have a wonderful , healthy 15 year old son that was conceived naturally and quite simply. Since his birth, we had an extremely difficult time having more children. We suffered five m/c's and a stillborn little girl due to a cord accident. After we lost our daughter I could not get pregnant and could not understand why.
When I turned 34 we decided to see a specialist for one more try. I found out I had diminished ovarian function and even on all the IVF med's the RE could not get me to produce more than one or two eggs, and she could not get my E2 levels up high enough to even be sure there were eggs in the follicles. She told me she was reluctant, but that she would work with us for one more cycle; she also told us not to get my hopes up.
THe third cycle started out horrible, and my E2 level only went up to 270. I had three follicles and begged her to try retrival. After much convincing she did and got two eggs. Both took and I am now 24 weeks pregnant with twins. My RE was and is shocked, and told me she has never heard of someone with that low of and E2 level to get pregnant.
Don't give up hope, you have to beleive even when things seem impossible. I did a lot of praying and spent my two week wait resting as much a possible.
I hope this helps,
A little Grace
