11 Weeks Pregnant-Unexplained Bleeding-Ghost, any thoughts?

Hey there... I had a stressful weekend and was hoping someone could pass along any thoughts or experience. I am 11 weeks pregnant, and on Saturday I had vaginal bleeding. It first happened at 10:00 a.m. and looked more like fluid mixed with blood. After the one episode, I immediately layed down and it stopped. Around 6:30 p.m., we were sitting at dinner, and it happened again. Only this time it was mostly fluid and appeared to be mixed with brown, older blood. About 30 minutes later, I had the same feeling, but this time it was all blood. It took several wipes to get it controlled and the water in the toilet was filled with blood. We then went to the ER and requested and U/S to check on the babies. All my bloodwork came back normal, and the U/S showed two very active babies that were measuring appropriately for growth and had heartrates of 163/165 bpm. I was on bedrest yesterday, and have not had any bleeding since Saturday night. Neither the ER doctor or my OB could give me a reason for what had happened.

As a point of consideration, I do have a third baby in there as well, that was lost around the 7 week mark. They can still see the baby on the U/S but said that its' shape was changing and it was taking on fluid. All of which appear to be signs that my body was working to absorb the fetal demise.

I'm just perplexed as no one can tell me why this happened. Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar or has any words of wisdom? Thanks.

I will post more later to you but if you get a chance go thru some of my posts. I bled from week 12 to 16 with twins. Firstly unexplained then diagnosed as a hematoma in the uterus (fancy name for blood clot). Didn't affect the babies and I am due any day now. Very scary but all worked out in the end.

Have the doc take a look. Could be nothing important, but be sure to find out.

I had three bouts of bleeding and spotting -- once at 9 weeks, once at 13 weeks, and again at 18 weeks. Each episode lasted about 5 days and was mostly dark brown liquid (old blood) but sometimes took on a deep magenta tinge. The first episode was attibuted to a fiborid that was near the placenta and the second was from a subchorionic hematoma (blood clot). The third bout was unexplained. My first two episodes had severe cramping with them as well and I was certain I was having a miscarriage. I was on bed rest and that seemed to help a lot with the bleeding. It's been really scary but thankfully, the baby is doing fine and my pregnancy seems to be progressing normally.

Take it easy and be sure to get lots of rest (the peace of mind alone was a big relief for me). I hope everything works out for you and your twins!!
