IVF nurse! No symptoms and need help

Post by rn2005 »

IVF nurse: First off, thank you for all of your help and wisdom for all of us! I am currently 4 days post 5 day transfer. I have my beta next thursday (in 5 days). Upon transfer, my Dr. said she thinks i will have success because my embies were great quality (transferred 2). I am freaking out because I am not feeling ANYTHING! no cramping, no tender bbs, no nausea. Should I be feeling something by now or am I freaking out for nothing? My family keeps laughing at me and tells me I am overreacting...that may be true but I have never been pregnant before so I dont know what to expect. I am on PIO shots as well and dont have any symptoms from that either. Any insight you could give me would be great! Thank you!

The same thing happened to me. This is my fourth IVF cycle and with two I had symptoms and yes I ended up pg (ended in m/c) but with this cycle I had NO symptoms at all! Not even any from the progesterone! The nurse said its normal. I didn't get any symptoms until about 7dp3dt and I just got my BFP on Friday! So, you don't necessarily have to have symptoms. And just because you have symptoms, doesn't mean you are pg either. Its hard not to pick apart every little twinge or lack there of. It can drive you crazy! Good luck!

Every pregnancy is different! You may or may not feel anything for a while! Don't worry. Remember in a "natural" pregnancy you wouldn't even be expecting a period yet. It's still a little early to POA, I would say Tuesday or Weds. I can't imagine what a 2ww feels like, but I can guess it feels like 2 months. Try to relax and think implantation and development! Keep us posted!
I am an infertility nurse and I work in a major IVF facility. I am willing to answer questions and give guidance, however, since I am not treating you, only your physician can give you the most accurate information.
