I had the same problem & w/ some very light pink spotting with the released progesterone. My nurse told me that the progesterone sits on the cervix and the uterus which makes its feel heavy and crampy, whereas the PIO worked its way through your system.

Hope that helps!

A very common side effect of suppositories is cramping, irritation and spotting. There are different kinds so if it is really bothering you let your doctor know and maybe they can switch you to a different one.
I am an infertility nurse and I work in a major IVF facility. I am willing to answer questions and give guidance, however, since I am not treating you, only your physician can give you the most accurate information.

I really hated the vaginal suppositories and would rather have stuck to PIO. My friend did this without issues.

I got a lot of pinks spotting, irritation and cramping from them...but I suppose we are all different. If I am luck enough to get PG again I will ask to go PIO the whole way.
