This is my second IVF cycle and in the past my husband has had very high sperm counts with great motility. The doc even teased my husband saying he had super sperm. He gave a sample in June before the start of this new cycle and the count was only 27 million. Then today at my ER his count was only 4.6 million with 36% motility. What could be going on? DH is getting very worried that now he has a problem. The last cycle we did not do ICSI and we got pregnant but this time they decided to do ICSI because the count was so low. Have our chances of getting pregnant gone down because of this? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it's more than adequate for ICSI. Your chances should be unaffected.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
Should we be concerned about the fact his sperm count has dropped so much? Is it something we should have checked out by seeing doc that may indicate some other medical problem?

This exact thing just happened to us last Thursday...we still haven't really gotten an answer and thus far our REs don't seem worried since they immediately converted to ICSI and of our 8 mature eggs, 5 completely fertilized (6 fert'ed but one arrested and didn't make it to day 1.)

It was based on only one sample, right?
I would be concerned if (1) this cycle fails and (2) the motility gets worse in the next cycle.

Ghost: He has has several counts taken in the past and they have all been between 100 and 200 million. Then the count he did in June was 27 million. It was only one count that was done at ER that was so low at 4 million.
Thanks for the responses. My dh was still concerned so he went to the doc today to get it checked out. The doc found that he had a slight case of epididimitis. He still wouldn't say for sure that that is what caused the problem but he gave him some antibiotics and said to get another count in a month. So we will see if it improves.
