Ghost...clinic question.

Post by snapper »

Have you heard anything about clinics in New York City...anything on St. Luke's Roosevelt?

Do you know off hand what a decent success rate is...what type of numbers should we be looking for when choosing a clinic?

I don't recall hearing about them before.

Their success rates for 2006 look about average.

The national average is found here:

https://www.sartcorsonline.com/rptCSR_P ... inicPKID=0

The rates for any clinic (including the national average) can be found here:

http://www.sart.org/find_frm.html

Some clinics have better rates for fresh non-donor cycles than do other clinics. They might have an excellent program, they might accept only excellent patients, or perhaps both.

With frozen and donor cycles, it's a little harder to inflate the numbers through mere patient selection. Every clinic claims to freeze only the best embryos, and they all try to find ideal young egg donors. So the numbers for frozen and donor cycles reflect lab quality better than the fresh cycles do.

The national average birth rate in your age group is about 45% per cycle for fresh, and about 30% per cycle for FET. The best clinics hit about 70% per cycle for fresh and there's one that achieved 80% per transfer for FET.

If you can find one that approaches those numbers, and can achieve them for patients just like you, you're very well off.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Wow those success rates sound amazing!! i have been trawling thru the SART and CDC sites all weekend and i cant find anything near those rates. Is there anywhere halfway decent in the IL, IN, OH area? As we are paying 100% out of pocket, taking cross country flights, hotel rooms etc on top of IVF, meds, ICSI etc is just too much.

The best i have found so far are Advanced fertility Center of Chicago
Institute for Repro Health Cincinnati, Advanced fertility Group Indianapolis

Any thoughts???

Thanks XX

We have been going to the Jarrett fertility group in Indianapolis and we really like it. I am not sure about the success rates. If you are interested I could look them up in the booklet they gave us. But just for niceness and customer service we like them. We don't actually see the nurses there though we have a local hospital were we see NP's that do everything and report to Dr. Jarrett. Then we go to his hospital to have the ER and ET done. He also travels here for some appointments. I don't know where you are moving in Illinois but we live near Champaign and are 2hrs from Indy. I don't know anything about the other places you mentioned.

I can't pretend to be an expert on these clinics (or an expert at all, anyway). But I have flipped through the success rates pages and some have caught my eye.

I have heard of Advanced Fertility, and I'm sure it's a great clinic.

My overall favorite in that general area, based on success rates, is the clinic in Iowa City. Good pregnancy rates with few embryos transferred, low rates of multiples. Excellent with frozens.

I don't know any clinic that has ever posted a live birth rate for frozens in the 60% or 70% range, but the clinic in Fremont CA posted 80.8%. Skipped right past the 60s and the 70s. That's one pretty amazing number.

The 70% birth rate I saw for fresh non-donor was for a clinic in Beverly Hills.
