May 2009 mommies, come join the fun!

Post by PMApsy »

Hello everyone!!

As lovely as the April 2009 mommies are, they're also a bit too ahead of me at this point, so I thought I would create a May thread just in case there are other mommies-to-be in my situation! I'm also a big fan of making lists to keep everybody up to date, so if you join me, make sure you tell me your due date and your next apt date or ultrasound date, if you're expecting twins, and so on... I'll put it all in the list!

As for me, I'm a psychologist and live in Montreal. This was our fourth attempt (2 fresh cycles, 2 FETs, became pregnant with both FETs). So far the pregnancy has been a smooth ride except for the last 48 hours. After having pinkish spotting, my clinic did a beta (6704, 3000 more than expected) and an ultrasound the next day. I have one perfect sac with a nice yolk and a fetal pole. The sac measures around 5 weeks 3 days, which puts my due date around May 4th. The ultrasound revealed no problem, and it soon became obvious that the pink spotting was caused by tiny ruptured cappilaries in my cervix, which is normal. Other than that, my morning sickness is increasing day after day, but it's usually very mild and goes away in 15-30 minutes or so. I'm very lucky! I'm also very tired all the time, and started waking up at night to go to the bathroom... which makes me happy because it means my baby is growing nicely (increased metabolism).

I can't wait to hear about you! Do you have any symptoms?

Have a great day ladies!

Welcome to the thread! I was almost starting to despair! Do you know what your due date is or are you waiting to have your little shrimp measured at the ultrasound?

I hope we'll have fun sailing through pregnancy together! :D

Hi Sophie.

How was your weekend?

Mine was ok. Last night i was feeling AF like pain.
do you know if this is normal?
I was a bit worried....

Other then that i don't have any other symptom.

I don't know about the due date but from my calculation it should be after 14th May.
I will see my GP on Thursday and as i said my 1st scan is for 7week one on 25th Sep. Feels like it's ages away!!!

I hope everything is ok till then.
I'm so scared.....sometimes it's hard to have a PMA.

Yes, sometimes it's good to have some symptoms.
It shows that something good is happening.

Take care
Anie :)

PS-it looks like we are the only one here....

Hello!

Anie,
I know how difficult it is to keep the PMA at times... but believe me, if you're really in trouble, you'll know right away. If you're wondering whether the symptoms are dangerous or not, it's probably nothing. I regularly have PMS sensations, or that crampy heaviness feeling you can have the first day AF shows up, it's normal. Cramping is normal all the way through your pregnancy dear, because your uterus will keep growing and growing... it will pull in all kinds of places in your abdomen! So do expect some cramping from time to time.

SilverAngel,
Hey there! Crash our thread whenever you want, you're welcome! :D

About tickers,
Go on www.tickerfactory.com or on lilypie.com. Select the type of ticker you want, and follow the instructions. When your ticker is created, you'll see many codes you can copy. Choose the code that begins and ends with . Copy that in your profile and voila. And yes, tickers will update every day automatically. Hope it's clear...

Okay, so we went to the ultrasound apt today and it was my doc!! We found the heartbeat in no time! We all saw it very clearly on the monitor and he gave us pics again. Yay! The spotting comes and goes, but my doctor was not worried at all. He said I could resume all my normal activities, but that it was all up to me. He said rest or no rest would probably have no impact on the slight bleeding, which is probably due to small capillaries bursting here and there because my cervix is more vascularized. My doctor said I could resume flamenco lessons, but warned me that, if I did miscarry, which is unlikely, that decision might make me feel very guilty. So DH and I talked about it, and he is uneasy with me dancing flamenco before the end of my first trimester. I'll respect his wish, of course. But we both agreed that prenatal yoga was okay. I'll start with that, and I'll try to walk a bit faster when we walk the dogs or when I come back from work... that way I won't feel like I'm just sitting on my tush, eating and gaining weight! Some pants are already really tight! (thanks to the meds making me bloated and have water retention). The doctor also prescribed meds for my nausea, which is getting worse and interferes with my professional life. The pharmacist told me it really is harmless for pregnant women, it's all minerals and vitamins. Can't wait to see if it works! :D

So that's it, guys... looks like the nightmare is behind us. Still can't believe it completely, but it will come to us. It was very special to say goodbye to the nurses without knowing when I would be back to the clinic. Soon I'll meet a new doctor... (October 9th).

Take care lovely ladies,

Sophie xxox

Hi All

I thought I would join this thread .I just got a BFP on my 3rd fresh cycle. The first two ended in chemical pregnancies. My first beta 10dp5dt was 565 and at 12dp5dt it was 995. I go back next Tues for my last beta test and then they will schedule an u/s. Although I got really good numbers I will be a little nervous until I get to see the baby(babies), since we haven't gotten this far in the past. The RE is giving us a 90% chance of getting a heartbeat. YAY. They transfered 3 blasts graded A-, B and C. The way the A- one was growing the doc said it had a more than average chance of splitting. I wonder if I am having twins.

I am so glad to hear that your ultrasounds turned out great. I can't wait to mine. I am guess it will be around Sept 22. If this pregnancy continues, the baby(babies) due date will be May 16. About 2 weeks before my DH's bday.

Best wishes to tall

Hi girls!!

I don't want to wait anymore and thought I would join all three of you so far!

I already know Sophie and Amanda and I will get to know you Anie as well.

As you can see, I just had my first two betas and found out yesterday that I will have my first US on Sept. 23rd. I can't wait to see the baby(ies)
I'm feeling pretty good, the symptoms are there every day and I'm enjoying feeling them as they remind me that everything is ok.

Anie, I have some AF type cramps quite a bit, I just figured it was baby making room down there, rearranging the furniture to its own liking! :D
According to this website http://ivf.ca/calcu.htm , my EDD is May 17th.

As for work, I take care of private orchid collections for people in Miami. Keeping me quite busy.
My dilemma is to figure out what I CAN do and CAN NOT do. My AP really scared me yesterday and told me to take it easy, no lifting of anything heavy (like 5 lbs), no pulling hoses, no bending over, no standing for too long. Basically from her perspective, I'm out of a job! I walk a lot during my work, I transport orchids that can be heavy(wouldn't do it now), I have to pull hoses to fertilize the orchids and I use a gallon sprayer tank for spraying which means you also have to pump it. Anyway, I'm now scared to do anything!! It's terrible. I think more along the lines of taking it slow and see how it works out. I'm not sure that I believe that doing this would cause a miscarriage. A lot of conflicting info out there and it's hard to figure out what is right. Life has to go on, I can't stop doing everything!!

I'm originally from Brussels, Belgium and I've moved to the USA on Sept 11 1987. 21 years today!!

Sophie~ Soooo glad your US went well and that baby is doing just fine. What a relief for you as I know what you went through the first time. :D
I hope your MS is getting better. I deal with a great deal of burping and lately I feel like I will throw up sometimes. I burp so much that I wouldn't go out to dinner. They come unannounced and it's embarrassing.
I'm having company for 3 days next week and I don't know what I'll do as far as the burping.

Amanda~ So good to see you here, I'm so glad we keep going on the journey together!! Hope you get a date for your US soon. I wish they would make me take another beta before just to make sure. But RE seems really happy!

Have a wonderful day! Hugs!

Hi Girls

back from work. It is so hard going to work lately. My company was sold and the entire accounting department is being laid off at the end of Oct. Meanwhile I have nothing to do at work. On the plus time it is perfect timing to be a stay at home Mommy. :D

As for symptoms my sore boobs come and go. Sometimes I also don't feel cramps for awhile. I'm sure everything is fine, but I like feeling the symptoms so I know that everything is ok.

Valerie - Great seeing you here. Like you I am afraid to go a lot of things. Lifting the cat, laundry, lifting the cooking pots to dump out the water when cooking. I completely know where you are coming from. I would talk to your RE or OB doctor though. Your AP might be taking it a little to safe. The paper work I got when I was discharged said no lifting more than 10 lbs until confirmed pregnancy.

Anie- How are you feeling today? Do you have your PMA back? Like you I worry a little when I don't feel symptoms all the time. I try to tell myself many woman who get pregnant naturally don't know for like 6-8 weeks because they don't feel anything. :D

Hope you are all having a nice day.
