I read this on an infertility website and thought it might offer hope to any mixed race couples.
I have just had a BFN on my 1st IVF and its little rays of hope that keep us going sometimes....I am caucasian and DH is Af-American so this study made me really happy. I hope if you are mixed race couple it will get you excited too...
Its from www.humrep.oxfordjournals.org and the report is ''Trend for better ART outcomes in interracial couples". I quote 'There was a trend for all studied outcomes to be better in the study group (interracial) than in the control group (same race).' Implantation rates were higher and miscarriage rate less.
'based on genetic information, better reproductive outcome would be expected with more disparity between couples (i.e. interracial couples)
Having said all this I GOT A BFN today !!! But it does make me hopeful for next time and i hope it can do the me for someone else on the board X X
Kas- I am also an interracial couple, I am caucasian and my DH is african/chinese(he is from jamaica.) We had a BFN on our first cycle as well but I blame my eggs. We do have one daughter that is going to be 8 that we conceived naturally on the first month trying. Since hten he has been diagnosed with diabetes and that is how we ended up on the IVF road (been trying for 5 yrs for the second one.) I am gonna click and read that article now ty for linking it.

I've heard that Asians and African Americans don't do quite as well in IVF. But I never saw an actual study of it.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
We are also a mixed race couple. I am dominican but pure african blood and my husband is mexican. We got a BFP on our first try with IVF.
I've never heard of this study before but I am now in another study which studies the success of IVF of mixed race couples espaecially one partner of hispanic origin, so who knows

I am caucasian/japanese, and DH is full hispanic....we got a BFP on our 1st IVF...22wks PG and going strong. The infertility issue was with me- unexplained, DH's swimmers are fine. I really don't know what our race has to do with it, other than our genetic material is more diversified and it cuts down on risk of certain genetic diseases.
