Anyone have/had a uterine septum?

Post by dreamer38 »

Just curious because I was told today by my RE that he thought he saw a slight one on the left. He wants me to do another lap/hystro. to correct it before doing another FET. I had one lap/hystro done already should they have seen it then? Has anyone gotten preg. anyways without correcting it? I'm not really familiar with septums, maybe I'll google it :)
Thanks for any info!

I was told that I have a septate or a bicornuate uterus. It was discovered during my first pregnancy with my daughter. I went on to deliver her at 36 weeks and she is now 3. My next pregnancy was with my son 6 months later. All wa well in that pregnancy, except he was born 5.5 weeks early. I am now 12 weeks pregnant through IVF and so far so good.

The only problem that I had in my pregnancies was pre term labor. There is less room in the uterus due to the septum. Therefore my two natural pregnancies, the babies tried to come out early. Good luck!

Thankyou for your post!!
It's nice to know that you can still be successful at getting pregnant/staying pregnant with a septum. Mine is small and I don't know if I am going to correct it or not. They think it's a reason that IVF hasn't worked for us yet, but I don't think septums tend to not allow you to not get pregnant right? Just preterm labor is a risk?
Thanks again for your post!
