I am a 2 cup per day person and switched to decaf a few days before transfer. I still drink 2 cups of decaf per day now that I am pregnant. My clinic recommends no more than 2 cups of regular coffee per day but I am more comfortable with decaf during the first trimester.
I was not told to stop exercising at all and was encouraged to continue with moderate exercise prior to transfer. You'll know what you are comfortable with. Good luck!

My clinic told me to cut out caffeine entirely (except for the occasional piece of chocolate, of course!)
I was very addicted, and I find I am sleeping better and more relaxed without it--and now that I've kicked the habit entirely, I'm actually less tired during the day, even though I have a very stressful job.
Hi,
I was told to avoid coffee during IVF treatment so I did. I wasn't told to avoid exercise so I went to the gym and did fairly physical workouts about 4-5 times a week until embryo transfer. I found the exercise was very useful in combating the side effects of the injections (such as mood swings etc). However, I did read somewhere after I had completed my cycle that exercise shoudn't be too strenuous during this period so you should double check this. I also had 4 acupuncture sessions (acupuncture has been proven to enhance the success rates of IVF) and I am now 31 weeks pregnant after the first IVF attempt.
Read this article (link below) and decide if you want to take a chance on caffeine. It was widely reported at the beginning of the year and was covered on all the national news channels.
