Wow. I didn't know 2 sperm could enter the same egg. Well to solve that problem you could do IVF with ICIS. That is where they pick out a good sperm and fertilize it, instead of just putting some sperm on it and letting it fertilize. It is a little costly, but they also pick out the best ones, so it increases the fertilization.

Another way to say they fertilized normally is that they formed 2 pronuclei. An egg with 3 procuclei may have had two sperm enter. A 3pn cannot develop.
