Hey ladies! I just wanted to see if anyone else out there has read these )or just one of these) books and would like to discuss their pros and cons. I currently am using Baby Wise for my twin girls and it seems to be working pretty well for the most part. I literally just started a few days ago as they were preemies and I wanted them to eat when they were hungry and whatnot. So thus far it is ok. I have not read Baby Whisperer but have heard that some people like it better than Baby Wise and was just wondering what people thought about it.
For Baby Wise it is wake, eat, play, sleep every three hours during the day and eventually you drop night feedings and they sleep through the night...I have not witnessed this yet but I have some friends who followed this and they slept through the night within 7 weeks.
I think with twins it is very important to stick to a schedule and they need to learn to self soothe because I can not be there for both of them at the same time (I have tried, it does not work!) So I think it helps them to become independent. I feed them at staggered feedings so that I can hold both of them and bond with them there. Plus play time I try my hardest to hold them both and not just put them on a toy or something. (that does not always work).
So input would be great about Baby Wise as well as Whisperer and any tips are welcome. What worked for you??

I read Baby Wise, and while much of the book was too theoretical, the wake-eat-play-sleep cycle is working WONDERS for my little one (2.5 months). He now takes 1-2 hour naps during the day, eating every 2.5 to 3 hours, and has begun to sleep about 9 hours at night! Yay!
Whichever 'system' you choose, good luck and hope your little ones sleep soundly at night very soon. Congrats!

Hey Shari. Yeah I am doing Baby Wise for the most part not totally. Mine have reflux REALLY bad so I can not let them cry it out too too much (unless I know it is just a tired cry and it will not last for long). But, some days are better than others. Still working on going down for a nap each time. But they eat every three hours and now are sleeping about 4 1/2- 5 hours a night at 2 1/2 mths old (adjusted 3 weeks old!) So I do believe in it. I am not as rigid as the book says to be all the time but it seems to be working. I mean I have twins so one is crying at least so they do cry at times and there is nothing I can do. So they are learning to self soothe.

I don't let my little one cry, either. I simply put him down for a nap after play time, and he drifts off to sleep. When I went for a family visit recently with more noise (kids, visitors, etc.), he did cry more, and I would hold him and rock him, etc. I will let him cry it out in the crib when he's a little older, but not now. He's still so little!
I see how challenging one tyke is. G-d bless you with two! Sounds like you're doing great.
