Emily and Ryan have made a surprise visit.

Post by stephjim »

Hello all. I am sorry I have not been in for a while but I wanted to let everyone know that my precious babies have been welcomed into world unexpectedly. I will go into the full story another time, but I had sudden onset of SEVERE preclampsia and it was already effecting my kidneys and Ryan's amniotic sac, so they took them out on Monday the 27th. They are both in the NICU still and thriving. Ryan was 4 pounds 15 oz and Emily was 3 pounds 15 oz. Ryan is now on nasal canula but did make it to the ventilator for a couple of days (hardest days of my life) and Emily is on room air already. Not sure how long they will be there, but I don't want them to come home unless they are ready. I am a nurse but not capable of taking care of a really sick baby. I will post pics soon and give the whole story soon, but wanted to let everyone know they are beautiful and the best thing that ever happened to me and I can't imagine my life without them, although I do miss them kicking me. :)

Hi Steph,

Congrats on your twins! Just to reassure you, I also had twins and had to have an emergency c/s due to severe pre-eclampsia. I had mine at 35 weeks and we bought them home on day 15. they are now extremely energetic 17 month olds! It IS tough when they are in NICU and very ill, but take this time to recover and soon you will have them home with you. (Then you'll know you're alive!!! eheheheh)

Best of luck and congrats on your new family!

Been following you for a year...

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

I had the same "I stopped peeing/swelling" but my doctor called the psychiatrist when I forced her to keep checking to see what was wrong...I hate her for ruining my beautiful time...she should lose her license.

Blessings to you and your newest family members -

I know I am glad I checked my BP. I personally think that the high risk doc should have checked everything when my fluid was low a few days before this, considering my swelling. The fluid went down a whole cm in three days. I was pissed.
