Advice needed on London clinics

Post by katherine »

I have recently undergone my second unsuccesful ICSI cycle and am considering changing to one of the London clinics(where I work) as I feel I have not been monitored sufficiently by my hospital as both times I overstimulated.
Has anybody any experience of either The Assisted Conception Unit at University College Hospital or the Assisted Reproduction and Gynaecology Centre? If not, does anybody have any feedback, good or bad, of any clinics in the area?
I would be very grateful if anyone could help me in this matter as I am finding it difficult to choose between them.

Many Thanks
Katherine

Advice needed on London clinics

Post by beckym »

Hi katherine

I changed to the ARGC from another clinic as I had bad ohss in my first cycle of ICSI and was hospitalized 2 days after et for a week. the first clinic only did 3 scans and no bloodtests over the whole stimming cycle. ARGC do bloodtests on virtually every day of the stimming and scans every other day - I did get a lot of eggs and follies again this time (I think certain women are prone to it) but they didn't let me do the hcg injection until my oestrogen levels were coming down. I am now on day 4 of 2ww after et on Monday and although fairly swollen no where near what I was last time and certainly not getting the terrible constant pain I had then either. ARGC also encourage you to drink loads of water and milk during the stimming itself and afterwards. hope this helps. beckym xxx
