Hi I got my BFP the day I went in for my beta (I had bad experiences with hpt, so I decided to stay away from those this cycle). My first beta was two hundred thirty something (or around there, can't remember very well now).
When are you testing? best wishes to you!!!
me: 33 dh: 40
2 miscarriages (natural pregs. #1 Aug 2006, #2 May 2010)
IVF # 1 jan 08 BFN
FET #1 March 08 BFN
FET #2 July 08 BFP (DD born on April 2009)
I got my BFP on my first IVF cycle. My first beta was at 9dp3dt and it was a 34. Second beta was 2 days later and was an 87. I am currently 9w5d pregnant! Best wishes!!!!!
My first BFP was during my second cycle and my first beta was in the mid fourties I think. Very low. We lost that pregnancy because the beta's never truely doubled throughout. The baby just didn't grow right from the begining. Our 3rd shot was much better, we're pregnant with twins now and my beta's for this pregnancy are in my signature. Good luck!!!
hi doddo. you could be just fine... they do prefer it to be over 100, as they believe this is more related to ongoing viability- BUT the most important thing is it doubling every 2-3 days at this stage...so you're follow up bloodwork will show this- many women start below 100 and give birth
when's your next b/w? you can ask for it earlier if you're worried...best of luck, karen

Hi Doddo,
I too was concerned about my beta #'s when I noticed some other girls on the board were higher. I was 109 at 12dp3dt. I was told it has to do with how early or late the implantation happens. Just like Karen said, it seems that as long as the numbers are doubling every couple of days that things are good. My RE's nurse told me that she's seen some girls with higher beta #'s that end up with one singleton pregnancy, and others with low beta #'s end up with 2 or more. I guess none of us truly know until the first ultrasound.
My BFP came on my first cycle 12days after a 3 day transfer and my beta was only 62. However, I went on to have healthy twins! My numbers barely doubled as well but things turned out fine.
Good luck!

today two days later my beta only increased to 83. im so upset. dr said it doesnt look that good. have any of you gotten a good pregnancy without the numbers doubling in 48 hours? mine only increased 60% in 48 hours. im so upset.
thanks
donna
hi donna, i'm so sorry to hear your upset all of this is very hard on us.
i've not had your experience, but i've also never had a second blood test two days later, i've gotten them weekly. but here's what i know from reading it multiple times: the number should double in 48-72 hours. so you're only at 48 hrs....so to me that says HOPE.

Donna,
I am hoping your little bean sticks! I have read posts of women who've had lower betas, who went on to have healthy pregnancies. One such case was even twins, so don't give up hope. Also, I read on one website that the increase every 2 days should be at least 60%. So far, you fulfilled the 'requirements' of pregnancy.
It doesn't matter what my beta was, it was higher than yours, but there is a vast range of 'pregnant' beta numbers. Lots of luck!
