Have you had a FET?

Post by wolffie »

Hi Everyone!

My first IVF cycle was a BFP and my ds is now almost 7 months old. He is wonderful and my dh and I can't wait for more. We have two frozen embies left from our first IVF and are planning on using them this summer. I am not feeling very positive about the FET but my dh is. I would like to use both embies but he only wants to use one at a time.

I hope you can share some info with me...
Did you have a BFP or a BFN?

If you had a BFP how many embies did you transfer?
How many implanted?

Thanks and best wishes to everyone!

I've had 2 FET cycles. First was BFN (2 xferred) and second BFP (3 xferred). Currently 22 weeks with a singleton.

How many embies did you transfer for your first BFN?

My advice would be to thaw both embies because there is no guarantee that they will both survive the thaw. You don't have to transfer them both though if they both look healthy i imagine you will want to.

I just did my 1st FET and got BFP!! We had 4 frozen, but only 2 made the thaw, so we transfered both. The FET cycle was a lot less stressful, I had my doubts as well, but it worked!!! Good Luck :)

My doc said about 20% of embryos won't survive the thaw. (We have 5, she's advising us to thaw all of them and see how many make it.)

Also, you'll want to check with your clinic's FET success rate. Ours is 2/3 that of fresh cycles.

You have to try to stay positive. We're working with number I surely wouldn't "bet the farm" on but, it's still our best shot.
