Gallbladder issue after pregnancy- please read

Post by riogirl71 »

I just wanted to write this as a warning for all of you. I never had any gallbladder issues before getting pregnant. One night when baby was about 5 weeks old, I felt an awful pain on my right side, under my ribcage. It got worse and I thought I was going to explode. At the ER they said it was my gallbladder, the scan showed my gallbladder was fine. I talked to the doctor and he said that it is very common for women that are pregnant or just gave birth to have gallbladder issues and he told me to get surgery eventhough the ultrasound showed it was fine. I did it and he said it was very diseased. the pain is unbearable so I wanted to warn you to seek help if you start having pain on your right side! It is very common but I never saw it anywhere!

Hi Esperenza!
I see you are on the final countdown! Congratulations! I have been following you since you were in the cycle just before mine, I am so glad you got your BFP!
Thank you for asking, it was a rough ride but I am much better now, having surgery with a newborn at home was no walk in the park!

Thank you rio. Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking "OMG, surgery with a newborn at home" :? I'm glad you're feeling better and that doctors were able to solve the situation. Take good care of yourself my dear.
