Need advice on Cetridide

Post by cookiegirl »

I am on day 4 of stims, 3 vials bravelle & 3 vials menapur. I have one follicle 14.3 and 4<8. I am a low responder. I just received a call from RE and they want me to start cetridide tonight! I usually don't start until day six of stims. Their reason is because they want the smaller ones to catch up with the large one. I am concerned that the small ones will stop growing and i will be left with one egg. I am also doing pgd and need as many as I can get. Does anyone have any advice? I would rather sacrifice the big one and let the smaller ones grow.....

Cookiegirl , I have just started stims for an antagonist cycle like you . I believe the cetrotide is started so as to not let the dominant follicle ovulate , hence you cannot not start it . I think it is started based on the size of largest follicles . I am not an expert by any means , could you discuss this with your nurse/RE ? Good luck with your cycle .

hope2008,

thank you so much for your advise. When I spoke to the ivf nurse yesterday about it she did not say I was in jeopary of ovulation, they were just concerned about the size of large follie. Well, I did not start it last night becuase my DH (who gives me the shots) was not pleased with having to start it so soon. He is so afraid that is will slow the others down and we will only wind up with a few eggs as usual. I hope we did the right thing. I will be starting it tonight and I go back tomorrow morning for ultrasound and b/w. I will keep you updated :?

Thanks again.
