HCG Levels?

Post by hope2bdaddy »

Sorry for no intro, wife is upset on this but we are both very confused.

Wife and I did a 5 day transfer ICSI ,

transfer was done on 2nd of March.

08 days past transfer: 28
10 days past transfer: 53
14 days past transfer: 144
23 days past transfer: Doctor wants to do Ultra sound

Wife is driving her self nuts over these numbers.
DR is not giving us much opinion on his interpretation other than he'd like to see them higher.

Wife is scared she will miscarry.

Wife is on 1cc progesterone shot and estrogen patches.

The numbers are low but they are doublings.

http://babymed.com/tools/pregnancy/hcg/
says the numbers are adequate.

Any opinions?

I am by no means any expert but I have seen such numbers turn into very healthy pregnancies. The Dr., can't really say much cause he does not know, the fact is that there are large individual differences in the numbers at the outset.

My only suggestion would be to enjoy the fact you are expecting and decide it's going to be fine. There is not much else for it i am afraid.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

Try to tell wife not to worry too much. My numbers were similar, I don't remember them all exactly, but they were something like...

first beta- 13dpo 44
second beta- 69
third beta- 128

first u/s at 6 weeks, no heartbeat, but saw sac and yolk sac
second u/s at 7.5 weeks, saw heartbeat

and my beautiful little girl was born 6 months ago

I was deemed a late implanter as she measured about a week behind the whole pregnancy, so tell your wife to keep the faith, it is definitely possible with those kind of numbers, I am proof!
