FSH, LH, E2, etc....

Hi, Ive been out of IVF loop since 07 and now starting again.... but all the info i had has gone frm my head.....

Can some 1 pls remind me, about FSH, LH E2 and other hormones thats are tested and what their levels are etc....
I had a great book by Zita West I think, and it was a bible last time, but can i find it? Can i heck? Arghh!!!
so any info on tests to be done before starting again and also sperm tests etc....

FSH is tested the hormone the body produces usually when sperm is being produced. I believe it should be under 12?? not completely sure though.

But for a woman, its for follicles to be stimulated isnt it? And this figure determines your egg reserve? Am i right?

Yeah, I think so. It determines wheather you ovulate or not.

FSH - Follicle stimulation hormone. Usually under 10 is good. Supposed to show your egg reserve.

E2 - Estrogen levels. Usually RE's want this # to be under 70 to show that your ovaries are suppressed.

LH - Lutenizing hormone. Shows that your ovulate. Don't know what the # is supposed to be.

The closer to 10 means your have lower reserve.

Hi nicola...not sure if you remember me ...are you about to try again...have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Fsh should be as low as possible...it would be something like an 11 year old would have an FSH of 1 a 50 year old proberbly be around 10 (just an example not a quote) the older we get the lower the fsh the fewer eggs we have.
10 is high, anything under 10 will get you some eggs...dont take that number too much to heart though i was told that FSH only goes up...not true mine went down through all my cycles and now post C it's even lower
first cycle was 9
second cycle it was 7
third cycle it was 6
now its 4 ???? maybe i'm a freak...LOL
