First Preg Test BFN - weeks later POSITIVE

So, this is my story. I have my first IVF cycle later February/early March. It was a fast, paper perfect, cycle. My day 10 pregnancy test was a BFN on March 19th. I stopped all my meds and a few days later I had a heavy period for 1-2 days only and spotting for a few days. Follow-up with doctor he noticed some fluid near my right tube that he determined was a hydrosalpinx. We decided I would have a Laparoscopy. My surgery was scheduled for today and I went for my pre-op at the hospital on Monday. They took blood and a urine pregnancy test. The doctor’s office called me yesterday to say that my urine pregnancy test came back POSITIVE. I ran over to the doctor’s office to take a blood pregnancy test that also came back positive with a # of 324 and my surgery has been canceled. I go back for another blood test tomorrow to see if that # rises. I spoke with the doctor late yesterday and he says I show the signs of an ectopic pregnancy, but he wants to see what my numbers come back at tomorrow. My transfer was on 3/9 - over a month ago now and I know my numbers are not a good sign at this point. UGH – I’m so devastated with the UPS and DOWNS in this one month and an emotionally drained after yesterday! Has anyone has a similar experience?

Is it possible that you got pregnant naturally following your BFN IVF cycle? I don't have a similar experience, but am very interested in the outcome of your situation. Here's to hoping that you have an "accidental miracle" on your hands.

I actually has a very similar experience. In december after our 2nd cycle with IVF we got a BFP with 1st beta of 60, then they double saccordingly over the next week and reached 323 then I started bleeding heavy and the next day went back for another beta and it dropped to 176. They told me to come back a week later and the number dropped to 60 and then they told me to come back another week later and the number was at 160. From there the number went up and down for another 10 days. They decided to treat it as a suspected ectopic although nothing on the ultrasound indicated this. After metho number went up a lil more then down. However, a week after metho I had really bad pain and went to the Dr. again and he said I had a hematosalpinx ( identical to hydrosalpinx except with blood). After the numbers zeroed out my dr. sent me to a surgeon because I have really bad adhesions, so on March 16 they removed the hemato/hydrosalpinx. It was really emotionally distressing because I remember how excited I got when the nuber went back up but they told me it wasn't anywhere near where it needed to be, and even after hearing that you still have hope.
