March 2010 Mommies

Post by baylorbear33 »

Hey there... I just got my BFP today from our last attempt with the whole IVF thing. We transferred 2 blasts on 6/22/09 via FET and my beta was 117 today. I go back on Friday for repeat bloodwork and hopefully a beta that doubles. I just wanted to start a thread for March as my due date will be 3/9/2010 if we are blessed with a successful pregnancy.

Hello,
Thanks for starting this thread and congratulations! We just got our BFP news earlier this week and are due on March 7. We are beyond excited as this was our fourth IVF.

A little background, we have male factor, low count and motility, so we moved right to doing IVF. Our first IVF attempt was a year ago, we retrieved 11, transferred 2, froze 9 and got a BFN.

We tried a FET last August, transferring 2 again and again a BFN.

We tried another FET last November and 5 of our embryos didn't thaw properly so we lost them. There wasn't time to thaw the rest so we just transferred 1 and again got a BFN.

We had 2 frosties left but I am totally convinced there was something really wrong with that whole batch of embryos so we decided to do another fresh cycle. DH has been taking some supplements including something called Proxeed for the past 6 months and while his count was down a bit, his motility was up, so we were really hopeful. We transferred 2 and froze 5 and FINALLY got our BFP!! My beta numbers are good and we go in for our US on July 27, I can't wait!!
Me=31 DH=37
Male Factor
IVF #1-3 BFN
IVF#4 June 2009=BFP!!!!
Beta #1=134.5
Beta #2=233.8

belle-02 & abogenpohl - thanks for joining the thread. We can all us support through this bizarre roller-coaster of emotions. My hubby and I have been very, very lucky and have received a BFP with each attempt; however, we lost both of the previous pregnancies, so while we are excitec, we are also scared, nervous, etc. It's a really weird thing when you're supposed to be elated about a pregnancy and the whole time you are just waiting for something bad to happen. I'm really trying to work on balancing being positive for the sake of the pregnancy with not getting too emotionally involved with the pregnancy for fear of another loss. Please tell me I am not crazy... Anyway, congratulations to you both and I pray that we all have successful pregnancies and happy, healthy babies.

Welcome Beafox, happy to have you here and congratulations. How many IVF cycles have you done?

What kinds of symptoms is everyone else experiencing? I am extremely bloated, but I think the PIO is mostly to blame for that. And I've had some cramping. It feels like extreme AF cramps except they only last for a couple seconds and they come maybe 1-2 a day so not too bad. I also feel a little bit more tired and a little bit more hungry than usual. How's everyone else doing??

Hello all, I just got my second round of bloodwork done and my beta went up to 357. It tripled in 48 hours. I'm happy of course, but a little frightened that this might mean multiples. As far as my symptoms, thus far the most noticeable thing has been the AF like cramps, bloating, and what I would describe as a fluttering feeling at times in my belly. I have also had lower back and leg pain (hamstring area). My nipples have also been very sensitive and my bb's have gotten larger. I am definitely more tired as well. I am encouraged, but remain cautiously optmistic.

Hi Belle

Post by Beafox »

I actually had my first treatments ten years ago. Several years of meds and IUIs and ended in a miscarrige. I was then went with a dr out of Chicago at the time Dr Beer where it as determined that I had immune issues and would need LIT therapy. A divorce and put myself back into my career thinking I was never going to have a baby(kept trying) god blessed me with a son at 41 had him at 42. Tried to have another and this was my first and only off chance with a 15-18% chance but to me it was a chance and I have my faith. Out of 11 follicals they had five eggs (which was appropriate for my age as they always remind me:) transfered three and here we are. I just pray that I can be blessed again as with everyone here.
