Hi
I am new to this site and am in process of IVF. I have started Menopur for nearly a week, and had my second scan yesterday to check how well was responding to drug. The doctor said that I had a lot of follicles (about 12-15) on each side of my ovaries and therefore was responding a bit too well as don't normally have that amount. I have got my second scan on Monday and they have reduced my dosage of Menopur to try and control it.
Am a bit anxious as possibility may need to scrap for fear of potential hyperstimulation. Am feeling very bloated and have discomfort.
Was would really appreciate any advice from anyone who is going through Ivf or has had similar experiences to mine
I had a similar experience with Follistim. After the first week I had numerous follicles and they lowered my dose. I, too, felt swollen and couldn't button my jeans. I just assumed that was normal. I never had any "pain", just a full feeling and uncomfortable. I would guess that Menopur is very similar and you should start your trigger soon. I wouldn't stress about it too much. Just report everything to your Dr. Even after my retrieval I still had the swelling, but it went away in about a week. I will start my second cycle in a few weeks and get to do it all over again. This time though, it's gonna work! I wish you luck with your first cycle. If you have ANY questions about the process, the ladies (and Ghost) are very knowledgeable and are very eager to help out. Hope this helped.
Good Luck!

Hi Ghost, I am just taking suprecur in the morning to control my ovaries and menocur in the evening to stimulate ovaries. Going back to the hospital tomorrow for 3rd scan and blood test, so will see what they say tomorrow.

Keeping fingers crossed
Suprecur is Buserelin, which is in the same family as Lupron. So hCG will be the only practical option for the trigger.
