I am scared.

Post by dolo977 »

Hi, I am new to this board. I have gone through 3 IVF cycles, 1st one I did not make it to a transfer because the eggs did not survive. 2nd IVF I had a 3 day transfer and a BFN. I had my 3rd one on 7/16/09 and two 5 day blasts transfer on 7/21/09. I got a BFP on Friday 7/31 but a low HCG level of 32.5 I went back on Monday, 8/4/09 and to my surprise my level jumped to 372. Since then I have had a little brown spotting and some cramping. I suffer from stage 4 endometrosis so I was not sure if that had something to do with it. My doctor said the spotting can be normal and the levels will tell all. Yesterday and today the spotting has increased and the color has changed a bit from brown to pink and sometime brown with fresh blood mixed ??. I am really scared. This is my first time ever being pregnant and just seeing this, I am so nervous. I go for another BETA HCG tomorrow which will tell all ... I guess I just want to hear from anyone else that has gone through this and how did it turn out for you?

Thanks very much. :)

Hi Dolo!
I just want to tell you not to worry too much about the spotting. I have heard of so many women who have spotted throughout their early pregnancy. A very good friend of mine who went through IVF last year spotted bright red blood quite heavily constantly for three months but was told everything was fine (and now she has a very healthy happy baby boy). Your levels look excellent too. I got my BFP just over a week ago and I know how you feel being scared it's not going to work. But I just try to relax and rest as much as possible and not think about it too much - hard as it may be!!

Sending lots of PMA to you!!!

Hi Dolo,
Starwishes is right, try not to worry too much. I received my BFP on 7/22 and found out on the U/S yesterday that I am pregnant with TRIPLETS. I have had spotting prior to my first BETA. and continue to. It comes and goes. It has always been brown so I know not to worry and I have not had any cramping. Try to stay as calm as you can because you don't want to stress out too much. The BETA tomorrow will help provide some answers for you. Going through this process is an emotional rollercoaster so I know trying to stay stress free it is easier said then done. Keep us posted about your BETA tomorrow. We will be thinking about you and hoping for the very best.

I just wanted to thank you for being so kind andfor the words of encouragement. I am glad I found this board because it is so nice to have people to talk to that can relate and know what you are going through. :) So I went for my blood work today and I was happy to hear that my level went from 372 to 1032. I am very happy but still a little worried because the spotting/light bleeding has not gone away. I am wondering if the cramping is due to not only the pregnancy but maybe my adhesions/endometrosis which could be making it worse?? Anyway I go for another round of blood work on Monday and if all goes well, my first U/S is schedule for the 17th, I think I will feel better once I see that. :)

Thanks again and I wish you all the best as well! :)
