First Time Sniffing questions!!

Hi I've started sniffing today for our first ivf and read in the leaflet that you must not have unprotected sex while sniffing but I'm sure the nurse told us to carry on as normal and that some girls go for their baseline scan and find they're pregnant. Also has anyone got any tips re the disgusting taste of the spray?! It makes me feel sick!! Tracy S - congratulations on your fantastic news you must be over the moon! Hi Dawn, I don't know the exact answer to your question - our clinic didn't mention it - we personally used protection - but that was our choice rather than being told we had to (I think that was mainly because in the bumf that came with the inhaler it said "don't use if you are pregnant"). I didn't find the sniffing too bad (I'm used to using inhalers because I get bad hayfever so am used that awful taste afterwards). Have you tried sucking a mint afterwards or something like that. Hi Dawn, We've always been told by our clinic to use condoms whilst on tmt. And re the taste - I like you found it awful and made sure I had a drink or hard boiled sweet to have about the time the taste hits! Good luck with your tmt - will watch your progress. Di

Hi ya Thanks for your replies. Have been cleaning my teeth before sniffing and this seems to get rid of the taste!! I suffer from sinusitis so normally use a spray but its not as horrible as this one! I rang the clinic and they said to carry on as normal and that some girls go for their baseline scan and they see a sac. She said it wouldn't do any harm but if i did fall pg while sniffing they would give me some drugs to support the pregnancy. Mmm bit worried now as not sure what to do? I struggle to keep up with everyone on here at the moment, are you having tmt at the moment? Dawn xx

Hi Di Congratulations wow 10 attempts, you are very brave!! I'm struggling with the first go! Hormones are all over the place but hopefully it'll be worth it! Have a great Xmas just think little one will be here for next year! Dawn xx
